Description These are paired in no real way. It's just the order I decided to do them in, so don't go getting any ideas. XD; This is not a shounen ai or yaoi.

On the left: Kawakami Gensai. He was working for the Choshuu (or it may have been Satsuma--It's hard to find information on the Bakumatsu if you can't read Japanese). He was a loose model for Himura Kenshin of Rurouni Kenshin. The real Kawakami Gensai was a hitokiri (literally, person killer), one of four, who were vital to the Meiji Revolution. Kawakami's assassination of Sakuma Syouzan is the only KNOWN killing of his, which goes to show just how efficient he was.
Kawakami was supposed to have been easily mistaken for a girl at first glance. However, the photograph I saw of him... well... there must have been some damn ugly girls running around. He was, at one time, a Buddhist priest, which is said to have given him, in spite of his job, a respect for life. After the Restoration, he was executed on false charges, as he was against many policies of the government he had killed to create. Kawakami (family name, btw) was supposed to have been the most dangerous hitokiri, and a cold, calculating man.

On the right: Nagakura Shinpachi. He was the captain of the second unit of the Shinsengumi. I was unable to find much information about him, except that he was supposed to have been one of the three strongest swordsmen of the Shinsengumi (along with Okita Souji and Saitou Hajime). Also, after Okita had to leave, he often led both the first and second units. He was one of the few members of the Shinsengumi to survive the revolution, and went on to write a book about them.

I'm not sure if I like either design. @@; Gensai looks too feminine, perhaps... and I tried to find a balance between the Peacemaker and Kaze Hikaru versions of Shinpachi, but the middle ground feels so... dull. I dunno.

Please, give me your opinions on their designs. And after I post the color versions, I'll move this to scraps.

I was going to say that Kawakami looked a bit femine, but so did Kenshin- It doesnt stop them from being drool worthy.
Once again- love the detail on the kimonos (even if they aren't the female ones...and if they arent called kimonos I feel dumb), Also the sword handles. I know that may sound gay but I can in no way draw swords- my keyblade took like 2 hours almost to get it decent....so I respect. I feel gay trying to give you suck wonderful comments. I love you.

They are called kimonos. XD And don't feel bad, I can't draw different kinds of swords with any real detail. I usually have them halfway hidden in pictures.

Thank you, babe. <3 I'm glad you find them sexeh.
