Description
Located on a rocky island which was populated since prehistoric times, Rovinj is first mentioned in documents in the VI century. During the Middle Ages it was protected by walls, filled with many narrow and serpentine streets, and on the top of the hill Monte there was a church of St. George. The body of saint Euphemia was kept there.
