AMAZING
Btw, I think the anime movie is just fine, if we consider it an adaptation, that is, something that was not intended to have the same soul the manga has. Because it certainly does not share the soul of the manga. I think the previous cartoons, those that were like 1-2min each, did a much better job at capturing the spirit of the manga.

This is a truly amazing piece. You gave her the bio-mechanical look and added detail and grit in a way that doesn't take away from her design and motion. I can't tell you how great this work is.
the Netflix film was mediocre, I wish they would have given the safe guard the bio-mechanical look we know and love. and honestly? no silicon creatures? that's what I read the manga for!

Thanks!
Well, the anime version mostly disappointed me by changing and simplifying the whole story (including the complete removal of silicon creatures and THI), but yeah, design changes suck too - especially for Cibo and Sanakan. I mean in the original Cibo was probably the most "human" of all major characters, and her role in the story was largely based on this fact, and now all of the sudden she is a metal cyborg...

Well, this makes sense, since as far as I know author of this comic was a fan of Giger's works.

Even though I haven't seen the newest anime adaptation, I've had skepticisms of whether it's even a good decision to animate this particular work. I won't pass judgment that it can't be done, but Blame! makes really good use of panels and a silent media, and achieving something equivalent in animations would require some good out-of-box thinking.
Amazing, by the way. I haven't seen that many Sana-kans of this quality for sure...

Well, the main problem of the anime is it's basically not really Blame!, and not a good "standalone" cyberpunk story either. Plot is placed in megastructure, also there are some people called Killy, Cibo and Sanakan in it, and a tribe called Electrofishers, and they use similar weapons. And that's it, only connections to the original story.
Characters look and act very differently, and in a much more "simplified" manner.
Remember how Killy made a lot of cruel and/or questionable decisions during the manga? Well, none of those present in the anime version! He is just edgy and has no character whatsoever, that's our main hero boiz!
Remember how Cibo traveled with Killy for a long time before arrival to the village? Screw that, he just finds her in the middle of the movie, and she is also kinda robot and immortal for some reason.
Remember how Sanakan infiltrated Killy's group to get into fishers' hideout? Screw that, she just replaces a random character in the middle of the movie, without anyone noticing.
Remember that enormous corporation building that was near village, and basically was a reason why Sanakan attacked in the first place, and also was a main point of the story for like 20 chapters? It doesn't exist. Yep.
Remember how GBE shoots an extremely thin, barely noticeable beam of energy, that affects environment around by some strange energy field that kinda just violently throws everything away from the beam, causing following explosions, and that's why it's called GRAVITATIONAL beam emitter? Yeah, in anime it just shoots 5 METER WIDE RED LASER BEAMS that BURN anything on it's path. And is still called "Gravitational Beam Emitter". Magnificent.
Remember how Sanakan was a scary goddamn cyborg with quite creepy face and body almost entirely composed of wires and machinery? In anime she looks like an almost attractive woman in some kind of metal armor or something.
And this list goes on, believe me...
Someone can say "but hey, maybe they just wanted to get a new audience with a new story!". But this anime fails in that too! I almost felt like authors of the movie expected me to know what will happen later - literally nothing interesting or rememberable happens before the main group gets attacked in the automated factory, and then also nothing happens before Sanakan's rampage, which is basically the end of the story in anime. I really think anyone who never seen original would just fall asleep during the first half of the picture.
So now we have an anime that is too different to the original, and too boring and inconsistent to be a separate thing. It just kinda sucks. It's not horrible by any means, it's just... average.
P.S. - also English is not my native language, so if I made a ton of stupid mistakes, then sorry :V
