A short list:
LIKED: Zevran (how else could it be?), Sten, Leliana, Wynne, Dog, Shale, Oghren (because when you stand his twelve-year-old's jokes and befriend him, he has some heartwarming moments - plus his friendship with Zev is just adorable; have you seen their banter?)
DISLIKED (or, more aptly, peeved by most of their behaviour): Alistair, Morrigan
In fact, it's not that I really dislike the belligerent duo Alice/Morri. It's just Morrigan's "for the evulz" attitude is tiring (so I only had her in my party when heading for the Anvil of the Void once I got more than three companions), whereas Alistair grew incredibly whiny once I recruited Zev. Add to this I am a female Tabris and everything seems to point out that he somehow got a crush on her. I made sure not to use any romantic interactions on him (seriously, he's twenty, Melisandre's five years older and, experience-wise, ages away from him - she feels about him like she would about an adorkable little brother), but I nevertheless got the (in)famous elf-bedding bug. It was very irritating. Add to this he doesn't relate to the fact I too have problems, but he doesn't seem to notice. When the Alienage is closed, in the party with Zevran, Dog and Alistair, Zevran attempts to offer some consolation, while Alice just kind of rocks on his heels, looking uncomfortable. That's all. It isn't fair - consider the fact I am always here for him, I listen to his every whine, I took Goldanna on the horns, talked him through every dialogue about Duncan... And yet, the only thing he is occupied with is being jealous. That's just low and childish.
Still, every playthrough is different. I know lots of people romance Alistair and gush over him. He was childish, but nice all the way until I befriended Sten. Here, he grew a bit worried (giant Qunari, lo and behold). But things really went down the slippery slope when I spared Zev. Seriously, how could I behave differently?
- He was (reasonably) defenseless at the time and my Warden doesn't kill if not forced to.
- Taking him along ensured Loghain would, at least for a time, consider the matter of Alistair and Melisandre dealt with, because there is surely some timespan when the hired Crows are given time to operate. This temporarily protects Alistair.
- Letting him go alone would effectively mean leaving him to die.
Besides... Zevran is like an onion: he's got layers. It was visible from the start. So I recruited him, easing Alistair's pain by not taking him to the ambush (where he loses approval when you don't kill Zev). But he nevertheless started to fuss when he learned there'd be a new pair of hands to hack at the darkspawn. Not nice at all.
If you'd care to help me gather information for my project, I'd be glad to ask you about your Warden(s) playthroughs in a note.
