The only good thing to come out of this abomination of a movie is Goku's outfit and it only looks good on animated Goku.

Nice, better than the movie. I found it to be kind of a let. Especially after I started watching Dragonball last spring. Now I'm on the Vegeta saga. Towards the end.

In the manga/anime he can (even though he barely ever did so). He can also split in two, grow into a giant, shoot electricity from his antennae, shoot lasers from his eyes, telekinetically levitate things and magically materialize things.

as its own movie, it's not good, but it's not terrible.
As part of the DB franchise, it's a big slap in the face of fans of the anime and manga series

I actually liked the movie...granted they could've done a better job being more acurate with the characters, but they actually put a lot of logic behind some things in the series.

Samuel L Jackon? LMAO...dont think that would work at all. actually Piccolo didnt look bad, and i think Justin Chawtin looked about as close to a real Goku as you can get (i mean late Dragonball early DBZ). the writing was my only real gripe, but give the kids looks some credit

I think that Goku was HORRID!!! Looks don't mean much if the Character isn't good. If you are doing a movie about Dragonball make the characters like em. At least cast someone who can play a Goku-like character. LOTR managed to do that!

thats just it...in my opinion Justin Chawtin captured the geekiness of the original Goku...not the roided serious Goku of later DBZ. it wasnt his acting...the fucker that wrote that movie ruined the it (not to mention the chick that played Chi Chi couldnt act her way out of a shoe box). everyone else has credintials...it was the writers that did the damage. in my opinion there were moments where Chawtin even sounded like Goku (when he was peppy and not confused...even when he yelled a few times). id say if they ever had to redo the movie they should give him another shot...and Tom Welling as Goku would never work in a million years. the poor guy will never live past being Superman on a failing show XD.
the movie couldve even restored some amount of charm if they just added another hour to it...like i said...the bastard who wrote that crap should have his balls cut off. the actors are not to blame in this movie (except for the girl who played Chi Chi...even though shes pretty hot)

Hmm. I have to agree with you there but to me Goku isn't geeky. He is Niave, innocent, Heroic, and a honorable Warrior. But as for Tom Welling i really have to disagree with you, he is actually a really good Superman! He is no Christopher Reeves but he does a really good job catching Superman's quality's on the show! But all in all Justin Chatwin does not have Goku's character.
