But he seriously is the best boy. I love how he is basically the joke character of the Kirby franchise.
He is probably the least dangerous of the dark matters... And he is also the cutest...

Well you aren't wrong, a star with an eye in the center, and soft looking one, is a very cute design decision (: My 'hatred' to him mostly comes from how I portray him (well... at least, used to...). Deceptively cute, very manipulative and angry. For me he compensates physical weakness with trying to drain power from other people instead of practicing to become stronger on his own

I always thought that he was pathetically weak because he was a parasite, like, litterally a real one. Using and amplifying the abilities of his host because he is genetically a weakling.
Although, he could have actually been a danger to the universe if Kirby was the one to open the chest. If Nebula makes Daroach very strong he would turn Kirby into the REAL destroyer of worlds.
I portray him as a dum-dum that just wants to have fun and live his life in freedom (Imprisonment into a chest would probably make him desire that (He is probably super cloustrophobic too))
and I believe his only friend is Miracle Matter because... They both have the power of the elements?
I don't know, I just find them cute together.

I love this commentary... Analysis of my favourite disaster star fish is something I live for. Also you are right about Miracle Matter, I used to tie them together, and even ship them together too, because they are cute + seem to have similar functions.
I also think if Kirby opened the chest Nebula's possession wouldn't have lasted very long - remember how Kirby is canonically so pure that it's not possible to truly turn him evil? I like how it was stated in demon frog episode hahaha
But dang you right... Nebula must have a huge thirst for some destructive fun now. Having been locked away for a (presumably) long time is not nice. I always imagined him getting revenge at Dedede for locking him away (I have sort of a story in my head about how it happened)

And I loved making it. Mira and Nebby are my Kirby crack ship. It stems from my young self. My first Kirby game was Squeak Squad and I eventually played Kirby 64 at the house of a friend.
We played together (One life at a time) and since we were little children we didn't collect all the crystal shards and we didn't know about 02. Miracle Matter was the final boss for us.
I always thought that Nebula and Miracle were ancient evils that lived inside their respective planets and were somehow related.
(I saw Miracle as a female and Nebula as a male because the respective rulers of the planets had these genders... I'm not sure if I want to change it...)
I also thought that the Fairy Queen was actually a villain all along and that Dark Matter was never the bad guy and just wanted to stop her.
In fact, I thought she was the opposite of Dedede. He acted evil but was actually good and she acted good but was actually evil. Before I learned about the true ending I always thought that one day the Fairy Queen would come back to reveal herself to be the true bad guy and the Dark Matters and Kirby would side together to stop her.
I forgot about that! Kirby really is the purest boy. I don't get why people think he is secretly evil or something... Nebby would have still brought some destruction probably.
And yes, destructive fun for the starfish of doom! He deserves at least some semblance of fun. Bring him to an amusement park or something!
It's widely believed that Meta Knight was the one who sealed Dark Nebula, but Dedede being the one (Maybe even without noticing) is an interesting interpretation.

Oh that's an interesting and a wholesome childhood story ^^ Thank you for sharing it! I, as perfectionist, started to collect all crystal shards once I noticed that option, so I on my side, didn't know that BAD ending was a thing... I found every piece without a single hint, which I am still proud of x)
Your obliviousness to the true ending spawned quite an interesting interpretation of events I haven't heard before o: It's not a bad thing! In fact, I dig that 'fairy queen is actually evil here' theory a little bit! Plus her being villain would mean that she'd have to show her insane magical spells and just... well... be a final boss. Showing her final boss attacks. Can you imagine? What do you imagine for her? Maybe some twisted use of the shards gun? Making it shards armour instead?
My interpretation of Nebula deserves nothing but to Burn in Hell, but to each their own! x)
By the way, why everyone believes Meta sealed Nebula away? This is interesting, but was in mentioned anywhere?

Good on ya! Nowadays I don't even move to the next stage until I know I've taken everything I could find.
I always imagined that she would use the power of the crystal itself. Using crystal-magic and crystal shards to perform attacks, maybe even launching herself to attack directly with... Crystal knives?
I imagined her teleporting fairy soldiers to aid her and using some sort of plant magic as well, creating vines full of thorns and carnivorous plants. She could probably use the crystal gun too.
Ribbon would actually still be on Kirby's side because she really liked him and his friends and would help during the fight, I don't know how.
Well, he is the "Lord of the Underworld" for some reasons... So I guess it fits.
People mostly believe that because he knew what was inside the chest. I don't know if it's enough proof that he sealed him.
I always assumed Dark Nebula was imprisoned before Dedede or Meta Knight were even alive... So I am not sure.

Interesting movesets described here... I would say teleporting her soulders would definitely work and be very in the style of a typical Kirby battle, although, maybe instead, she would create crystal light projections of the fairy soulders instead? But overall, interesting ideas! Although using vines with thorns is at this point Marx's attack ^^" Would Marx share it? xddd
Maybe he is like Necrodeus but for dark matters, we can't know how they die... Maybe sealing him away meant that once destroyed, dark matters wouldn't be reborn! His japanesse name is 'dark zero', after all! Although I've taken it a bit close to heart and made him mirror zero... well, weakened incarnation of one. But novadays I see many other options, so we both aren't sure here.

Yes! Light projections of fairy troops! That's a good idea. Marx has to shut up a bit. Kirby bosses borrow moves from one another, it's not a big deal.
A lot of final bosses took his cutter attack so he shouldn't complain about his (in my opinion) weakest attack getting stolen.
I can imagine Necrodeus berly standing Dark Nebula's constant rumblings about stuff that he doesn't care about...

Also yeah you are right... At this point, villains having similar attacks should mean nothing, not even for the lore. It's just the was HAL Labs does thing - they reuse ideas that were good. And they are actually good ideas.

Yeah, it came from how mirrorers are called! Like Dark Meta Knight, Dark Taranza, Dark Dedede (japanesse title for Shadede)... I grabbed the pattern because in japan Nebula is called 'dark zero', although it probably meant nothing in the end as localization was official xd

Void Termina seems to be the dad of dark matters, yeah! At least of Zero... It seems obvious but why not to follow the logical track. Unless Hyness just tossed a part of EVERY evil that harrassed kirbyverse for the past hella years into filling VT with enough negativity, and dark matters just fell into. Like Star Dream's wings and whatnot.

My void termina is the father of zero and zero2 (their twin brothers) Void is the only one if tge family that can't feel positive emotions or understand love. Gooey and glob (his sister) are zero's children, dms is zero2's son. Miracle natter and dark nebula where adopted into the family no one knows who made them or where they came from.
After the war (which was started by termina) termina was made because they didn't know how to fight, he was also mad at their bond and the love they felt for each other. He corrupted, mutated them, abd broke them to obey every single command from him

It's a rare one to see 0 and 02 concidered to be separate characters, but that's okay! After all benefit of it is having not one, but two cute angsty orbs and who would feel completely free to refuse that... x) Glob was sure a something (also many people call her Blob as alternate), I trust she's like Gooey's sister as well!
Miracle Matter and Neb share so much in similar that tbh I wouldn't be surprised if they were of the similar origin. They both seem like semi-success attempts to recreate a dark matter creature.

Yeah but it's ok cause they get healed by Kirby. In my au gooey begged Kirby to heal DMS and zero and after that Kirby recognized the state of the other matters and healed them as well. Termina fell into a very long very deep sleep when sent zero2 and miracle matter to ripple star and was woken up in star allies. The dark matters made their home on dark star, they like the nature and flowers there.
Speaking of Kirby 64, I nearly forgot about ru, ro, and ra. They're the youngest in the family and complete brats, they love bullying miracle matter to the point of him crying (my miracle matter is a scardy cat and cries a lot)

Awwwwwhhh so dark star got plant life and such? Man, this is an amazing idea that 02 and company actually kept the Dark Star and it remained as a planet in Popstar's solar system? Except... less dark? I would be up for it, well if dark matters behave good then why not to have a place on their own? They might have stayed on Ripple Star of course but it's a question how much fairies would like to still have invaders around.

I never really gave thought to them somehow, whoops; But my Miracle Matter, well.. they switch personalities like they switch elements. A real actor. The 'true' personality tho is somehow chill and well-meaning

I've been thinking about the corrupted forms of the dark matters and here's what I have so far
Dark nebula- dark's powers are increased so much as to were it actually hurts him to use his powers, he also had a cut in his check at the time, his elements would leak out of the cute like flames, ice, sparks. When Kirby defeated him he tried to snap his neck but Kirby stopped him before he could
Gooey- gooey had mouths all over his face his arms grew to be longer than his sleeves with razor sharp claws and his eyes were locked in place (like couldn't move them at all)
