PaRt OnE, cHaPtEr OnE: Assassination at Area 667
----------------------------------
Lecardo City, Area 667(military tech)
9:33 PM

"Honestly, I think it's ridiculous that anybody would split a city into groups like this. I mean, it's not like people are gonna' know who the hell A-667 is, right?" asked Jack Winstone, dragging the dead body of a guard behind a tree. "Who knows? All I know is that the President is here, we have to kill him, and we don't have much time to do that," replied Clyde Winstone. The two made their way back to the gate and attempted to kick it open. A sudden jolt of electricity stopped them in their tracks. "Yep, security gate. Got any lock picks?" Jack asked. Clyde threw him a lock pick, and Jack went to work. Jack Winstone specialized in picking locks and hacking mainframes, whereas Clyde was more of a stealthy assassin type. Combining the two made up a normal day spy in Lecardo.

In under twenty seconds, the lock clicked and the gate swung open without a sound. "Alright, we have to be careful from here on out. The last thing we need is the mission getting compromised," Jack said to Clyde quietly. Clyde nodded and pulled out a knife. "We should probably be on the look out for snipers. No doubt the security here is stronger than that gate. If that's all that's guarding this place, pfft, any fool could just walk right in, set off a bomb, walk back out unnoticed." Clyde had a point. There was an incident in Area 999 just weeks ago where a suicide bomber dressed as a businessman walked into a building and blew himself up right next to the main supports, toppling the building into the next one, and then a domino affect wiped out half that sector.

Jack looked around. He didn't see any snipers. But Lecardo was sneaky that way. Their snipers had super long range, so there could be a man posted all the way in the next sector who could see-and shoot-them. Just to be sure, Jack threw a rock in the air. Just as he suspected, the rock was met by a high-pitched zoom before getting split in half. "Careful, Clyde. There's snipers alright, but not anywhere near here." The two moved cautiously through the dark, keeping low to the ground, until the finally reached the building, where they would be safe from all attacks outside. Jack popped the lock off the door and the two walked inside.

Inside was just a big warehouse. The president had chosen to meet his little group here because he figured nobody would ever guess it was him. How wrong he was, as two spies peeked around some boxes and were listening intently to his conversation.

"...So, we have ourselves a deal?"
"Yes. You should have the piece before sunset tomorrow."
"Good. This plan can't wait much longer."
"It would be a tragedy to see it fail."
"Yes, but if it does, I have a back up plan."
"What is that?"
"I can't tell you that. I've given enough information, and though I feel safe here, who knows if somebody's listening."

"Are you perhaps... paranoid?"
"No! Nothing of the sort."
"Hmph. You act like it."
"I most certainly am not!"
"Then tell us. We won't tell anybody else."
"That's just it. I can't tell you, even if you can hold a secret. I want this to be a little... surprise, let's call it."
"Ah, I love surprises."
"As do I. And this one will shake the nation, heh heh..."

Jack looked over at Clyde. Clyde nodded, and the two rolled a smoke grenade each into the ring of people. A split second of yelling later, there was an explosion and black gas soon filled the warehouse. Gun shots could be heard, screams of agony were emitted, gut wrenching crunches sounded off like firecrackers...

...And President Ryan had no clue what was happening.

But when he opened his eyes, he knew he'd been found out.

The barrel of Jack's gun was pointed at Ryan's head. "P-please, I beg of you! D-don't hurt me! Have m-mercy!" he cried. "Sorry, we're still waiting for the latest mercy shipment," Jack said. Then, as soon Ryan had a chance to process his fate, Jack pulled the trigger, firing a lead bullet straight through Ryan's head. A slimy, disgusting mix of grey brain chunks and red blood spilled out on the floor. "Ooh. Messy, messy, messy," Clyde said, pulling his knife out of another man's shirt. It was stuck on intestinal strings, so Clyde had to saw his way out. "Gosh, if that isn't the hardest way to pull out a knife," he said after five minutes of struggling.

The two looked around. They could hear multiple soldiers approaching. After all, a battle had just taken place, and they knew the president was inside, so it was to make sure he was okay. "We have to leave. Now." Jack and Clyde bolted for the nearest window, broke it, and jumped out. Sniper bullets came from all angles, soldiers shooting, grenades flying...

...and in a flash of explosive light, it was over.

two spies, Jack and Clyde Winstone, on stolen motorcycles, rode calmly away from the remains of the battleground they had just escaped from.

Who would've guessed that the bombs they had littered around the area would prove so useful?
