Your piece is definitely more mesmerizing than that song. And that not to insult it, that song is fine.

Well, I can find plenty of value in the "mindless". A good example is one of my favorite movies, Sin City. Most would see it as just gratuitous violence and weird colors but it's just so perfectly executed and the dialogue is fucking beautiful. Haha, to me it's beautiful anyway.

The fuck? Is that like a notable thing that happened? I missed THAT, apparently. Though, it's not like there's a lot good to get from the Fantastic Four movies to begin with. And yes, most definitely check out Sin City, the movies, the comics, whatever you like. Just a tiny warning, if you're against movies being gratuitously violent, over the top and also sexy, then you'll only last like 7 minutes in the first movie. Hahaha.

You were on the set of Fantastic Four? Well that's kinda cool. Slight shame it couldn't have been a better movie. Oh man, to be an extra 91st Kadie's Saloon in Sin City, that would be badass.

That's one cool thing about bigger places. I can't think of any movies that have filmed anywhere near here, I live in a small town in Virginia. Nothing here except lots of colonial history. Which is cool to me, but I want my movie stars, damn it!

Our $ is low. Movie trucks everywhere now!
Actors are just self employed workers. A lot of them never make it. Kind of an overrated job.

I don't know about all that. It's about the craft of what they do. That's how I look at it, anyway. Plus, it's a job Thats really fun to them, that's not overrated, a job you enjoy.

ya, welding is a craft. Do you ever look at a good welding line and imagine being with the welder that drew that good solid line? I think not. Acting is more than a craft. Besides, if you have been on a set, you witness that their craft is so much helped with and not even mentioning the special effects here.

That does cross my mind, the fact that movies have all these layers that make up every shot and scene. The music, what led up to that scene, the lighting and whatever special effects going on. That just makes it even more impressive to me, they they can channel this stud when sometimes it's just them talking to themselves or a puppet or a green screen. Like in Sin City, Mickey Rourke'a character has a fight scene with someone and they were never in the same room with each other. They were filmed separately and the footage was edited in a way to make the fight complete. If you can make a convincing fight scene when you're just punching and kicking the air, you should be at least a little admired.

I just love everything about them. You seen Birdman? That's a new favorite of might (a Best Picture winner as a new favorite? I'm so original), and it talks fucking incessantly about acting and actors and thier personalities and flaws and good traits, etc, etc. I could watch that once a week and not get tired of it

Well, if by any chance you've read my profile or just gathered from our per conversations, for a large part of my absorbing art or entertainment, I just watch to be entertained. I do like films that challenge, but challenge is subtext or whatnot is not #1 on my list. I don't think Penn & Teller have a lot of subterfuge around them to look good. Penn at least is a funny guy off the cuff just like he is on stage and in TV.

I don't mean to take you off your game. It is all good. We need to believe when we watch movies and it is what it is all about. I have no idea what Penn & Teller is about. sorry

They're a duo of magicians. Their shows are like part magic, part comedy. Part of thier gimmick is that Teller doesn't talk and they often reveal how their tricks are done ad part of the act. They also do stuff about like politics and issues, they're both Atheists and Libertarians and talk about shit on talk shows and stuff. They had a TV show called Bullshit where they debunk stuff like why recycling is actually worse for the environment and why PETA are a bunch of assholes.

Apparently the have a few albums. I listened to a bunch of their songs. They have been around for a long time. I certainly recognize a few songs that have been playing on the radio for years like 'Apologize' and 'Stop and stare'. The use of cello in their band is awesome. Sets them apart from the typical rock bands but 'Counting stars' was the song that made me want to see who sang it. I like 'All fall down' too as my second fave from them but I am sure they have more songs I would like.
