Ever since his 1985 Fung Sandcat hatchback was destroyed following the events of Driver's Dread, Mr. Bolhofner waked over to the junkyard to see what he could find as new vehicle. He found a 1987 Gavril D15 regular cab that had seen better days. The bed was missing, the front bumper was completely rusted, it had a missing door panel (Although, it sometimes has a door panel from a 1999 Gavril D15 pickup), the tires were flat and, the engine wouldn't run. Plus, it also had a creaky manual transmission and air conditioning that barely works. He paid $300 for this truck and threw together whatever parts he could find from the junkyard to fix it up. He even found an old steel bed from a farm trailer and somehow bolted it to the back of the truck itself and even wired headlights and turn signal lights to the bed itself. He also found off-road tires from a jeep that was crashed and an old dune buggy hence why they are mismatching. He spent about $200 in parts and they were mainly found in the junkyard itself. Mr. Bolhofner didn't have the money to buy a new or used vehicle. So, he took what he could find and put it to good use.

And yes, that bumper is replaced by a bull-bar that like the rest of the parts of The Hoff's truck, is also found in the junkyard itself.
