How do you avoid putting the wrong color in the wrong place?
It would be cool if you did a dragon peeling it's self out of the page.

Sometimes, I do put color in the wrong place. I use an electric eraser (it's basically a dremmel with a rubber nubbin attachment) that cleans out the mistake, then I can just color over it. If I colored a dark color where a light color should be, then I can overlay white after I've erased, and that allows the light color to still look right. I do a pretty good job of keeping track of where the colors go, though. Sometimes I'll write little notes or stick arrows around the dragon so that I know which areas need to be a certain color, and which areas are background.
MC Escher did some great work along those lines - lizards peeling out of his tesselation pattern and becoming 3D drawings. I'd love to do something like that one day. I have about 500 projects in the queue, though, so it'll have to keep.
