"Sidhel, you awake?" Reyna whispered softly.

"No," came a sleepy reply. "I'm fast asleep....Go to sleep, everythings okay now."

Sitting up, the human had seen first-hand the emotional effect of the elf being told that she would have no involvment in the lives of the children she fathered. She had feared a forced abortion, her baby taken away, even prison. However after holding the weeping elf for half the night, she felt....Safer. "I never told you." she said in a low voice.

"What?"Sidhel asked with a yawn.

Brushing back her hair, she was not sure how to say it, "Well, when you first got me, you know at the market?" Reyna watched the ranger head nod as she shifted her arm under her head. "When the technician gave me the choice, you know, for birth control....I turned it down."

A tired chuckle was the unexpected response, "You don't get a choice, all servants get one implanted...You must have heard her wrong." Pulling the blanket up higher, the elf tried, to empty her mind and go back to sleep.

Looking at the form huddled next to her, Reyna was no longer sure this was a good idea, but she had to finish it. "I'm sure I heard her right." Then in a whisper, "By the way, I'm pregnant."

At first she was not sure the ranger heard her, then when her head jerked upward, she had no doubts that she did.
