the cover image for a story based on a dream I had about a postapocalyptic world where nuclear fallout caused animals to form human-like bodies (over several generations of course). In the far future, the Stags are a society that keeps to themselves in the woods, except for every hundred years, the Stag Prince must come to the human fortress and take a human bride. Usually the princess is sent with him, but this time a priestess from one of the temples has had a dream about him, and she is the one who is chosen and who must make the long journey alone to the Stags' village deep in the forest.Related content

Wonderfully striking image. What materials did you use, and what size is the original?

it's Prismacolor pencils and it's small: 10"x14" Actually, I did it in two stages: started it in a sketchbook probably when I was a freshman in college, and then came back to it a couple of years later when I knew better how to handle the colored pencils

The colours are so intense I thought it might be a painting with pencil textural detail. I've heard a lot about Prismacolor pencils but they've only recently become available over here. Thanks!
