Another portrait study, not sure what it turned into but I had fun with it anyway. Still working without sketching or lineart, working with just form and light feels a lot more rewarding.Art is © Rachelle Fryatt

Her expression is my favorite thing about this. She seems to be in a peaceful happiness, like she's feeling the sun on her face and simply content, though I feel somehow it's after a hurdle of some kind, emotional or other. Perhaps there's a pinch of triumph, relief, satisfaction. It's an intriguing set up, and I love how intricate it is, despite the lack of any surroundings, anything telling her story. It's all in her expression, and the fact that I can tell that says a lot to me. How you did it all looks amazing, her face and it's features especially. It's amazing.
