I'm fond of your female dwarf! Tarin appears to me as a beautiful and at the same time forceful personality. And you did a pretty good job with the details!

More dwarf ladies need to be represented in this way: with a unique flair that makes their heritage undeniable and yet without exaggeratedly detracting from or over-emphasizing feminine beauty. You struck a really good balance here.

Almost every modern depiction of a female dwarf I have seen uses sideburns rather than a full-on beard, as called for in canon by Tolkien. Β Despite the incongruity with canon, I like the sideburn look better. Very, very well done.

She looks exactly how I think a dwarfish woman should be, strong and powerful (and with a little beard) yet still pretty and female
I love it

There are so few female dwarves in artwork and she is positively amazing! The right balance between pretty and business. Don't want to mess with her!

Thank you for the lovely comment! ^^ Yeah, I can imagine she'd be pretty bad tempered at times!

She should be popping up again some time soon hopefully, with maybe even a bit of character information and history XD

I think I'm starting to admire you more and more every day...The shading in this is what catches my eye instantly, it's phenomenal! Then there's all the detail in her hair, in the fur, in her eyes, the way her skin looks and the structure of her face...Yeah just...Amazing work, once again, I can't stop staring ;v;

I think the thing I like most about this picture is that it's accurate to the books lol People seem to forget that dwarf women have beards too. The lighting and textures are fantastic and the detail and originality you put into both her looks and her clothing is amazing. I especially like the scars on her temple, chin and collar bone. It's that attention to the little details that give a character depth. I look forward to learning more about her!

Have you seen the dwarf women's beards in the (amazing) art book, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey Chronicles: Art and Design? It could help you with her facial hair!

The braids are really cool, defiantly a great alternative to the cliche bearded woman.
