Description I had the exciting opportunity to color a 10 page comic drawn by Bob Hall for a comic anthology titled "It Was Metal", which was successfully kickstarted & commissioned by the metal band A Sound Of Thunder.  The 10 page comic I worked on was written by Jeremiah Jay and Josh Schwartz (who is also a member of the band).

I am available to hire for freelance for independent comics.  Rates available upon request & details of a project.

I actually use both.  For years I've been using a large Wacom Intuos tablet with a custom build PC / display monitor.  Within the past couple months I've been fortunate enough to acquire a 16" Wacom MobileStudio Pro, which is great for when I travel or just want to work from the comfort of my couch and I looooove working directly on the display so it has become my main tool.  But I do still use my Intuos with a PC often and I highly recommend those tablets.

The MobileStudio Pro is a pricey option and not the most light-weight for, say, just carrying around in a bag and using at a coffee shop or something (I chose it in part because it is an actual computer that can run the programs I use and be more of a workhorse designed specifically for artists).  Many people who use Microsoft Surface tablets and iPads (iPads would be the least expensive option I think) and they do wonderful things with them.  For coloring comics, I think either of those tablets would fit the bill, though I think I know more colorists that use a Surface.  I know there are a lot of other graphics tablet options out there, I just don't have personal experience with them to recommend!

I hope this is helpful

thanks for all that info, it does help a lot! i really think drawing directly on the display will help me out a lot, especially when it comes to drawing straight lines, but i can't make up my mind which tablet to go with. i've been doing a lot of research and i'm really liking the tablets that use a matte surface over the screen. they say it feels very similar to working on paper because it has a little bit of tooth to it. plus there's the fact that some of them are a lot cheaper. they can probably keep me going for a while until i save up for the surface pro or the mobile studio
thanks again for the feedback, i appreciate it!
