Here we see my envision of the Main Theater Room from Rainbow Factory...again...this is indeed the second picture in my series of redraws. you'll notice this time i did not include Raptor's gun. i felt it drew away from the picture as a whole, and made the viewer...at least me...look at the gun more so than the rest of the image...and it kinda covered my really ...cool..i guess...vats lol. also after drawing Scootaloo, Rainbow Dash, Orion Solstice, and Aurora Dawn...i really didn't want to draw Atmosphere....who isn't even supposed to be in this scene anyway lol.

this improved version isn't...much...more detailed, as i've not grown to far as an artist in 7 or so months, but flipping between the two, i can see at least some improvement.

There are a lot of details to the issue: his creators were in-humane, and sought to use him and then dispose of him like an appliance
His "destiny" was to fight and die
He wants to live for something
Kind of hard to do when you are "man's creation"
And not "god's creation"
None the less, he'd want to understand what is up: knowing creates options, how else do you think he survived 400 years? 
And I bet raptor would hopefully be understanding and helpful
Besides, I did say I was jumping to conclusions with that last "what if"
But that tends to happen when you live through 400 years, most of it war, and nearly everything you try always has a catch to it, something always making things a little more complicated

I'm sure Raptor would understand. So long as they don't try to kill him first he will always listen to whomever he's just met. After all, Celestia didn't havta say much for him to be willing to risk his life for her kingdom.

It would seem to me that he's set in his mind as to how things are and to be proven wrong would destroy him because his very essence thrives off his beliefs. I have a friend like that....stubborn fool....

Hmm... Interesting... as C-4 has a logic-based apprehension-fear of religions, primarily the indisputable will of gods... and preference given to those that are "God's creature(s)"
(Important note: He would HATE that jungle world called "Felaria" and the intelligent but instinct-driven predators that rule it...)
and he might go to pieces (inside) if its proven to be real... actually, he probably would... not to say he won't stop trying... but his "heart" would no longer be nearly as involved in any action...
for example: casualty rates could go from 6% to 42% on a "good" day
and this is probably jumping to conclusions, but C-4 could end up broken after learning about Raptor before the RF actually happens... and with a crippled motivation...
"not a single soul gets through" just might be the thing that finally scraps him...

My, my, my... Raptor meets C-4...
have to think on that as C-4 could either be a few decades old or a few centuries old (depending on what part of his story intersects here...probably the latter : 400yrs )... and he does have a partner made by another friend of mine (whom I have difficultly emulating and he is both highly occupied and doesn't like deviant art (for some untold and potentially quite negative reason... unless I forgot...) )
non-the less... he'd be interested to learn from Raptor: humans that can do in decades what took him potentially much longer to do is always welcome teaching

well i do plan on making a Bio for my OCs, even Raptor. that way if anypony wants to use'em they have an idea of who they are and what they've been through. and at this point in Raptor's story, he's been through a lot lol.
Based on this, [link] ITRF is based in the Near Future.
just keep in mind that Raptor is apart of the above copyrighted story that belongs to me and D.C.R. (i just like putting him places he don't belong. besides...how often do official story tellers make crossovers...i mean really!?)

*one charge shot right to the 'Pegasus device' rips it apart rendering at least 40% totally un-salvageable and another 30% badly damaged,
the vats of spectra break and spill onto the floor loosely running over each other, they reach his feet and he pauses to look at the material, he runs his hand through it and stands up looking at it,
the violet running the quickest and the red the slowest, not mixing with each other
he makes a deeper connection that this used to be someone's blood, body, hopes and dreams - dashed into such finite material, so wasteful in the light of what can be done in a pony's life
he rubs it on his face with one stroke of his hand: part war paint, part attempting to bond with the lost thousands over the past ten centuries, all one purpose: help the remaining, and lost, souls get through to finally find rest
he looks up: and end the horror and all that bring it
he leaps/ vertical air dashes to reach the perch where Rainbow Dash still stands, after sending and witnessing all the guards mauled and killed by him
The dim lighting and his helmet cover his face in blackness, only his green eyes and the spectra on his face illuminate his mouth and nose, RD is illuminated much clearer by the spilled spectra on the pit's floor
he speaks*
"There's a shadow that covers your face, but your eyes shine, just like mine..."
*he holds a hand out to her, beckoning*
"Step forward, step into the light, and if your readying and willing and prepared to-"
*He's cut off as he has to intercept and smash another Pegasus that tried to back stab him. He neutralizes the Pegasus in one swift motion and he never takes his eyes off RD. The Pegasus, mauled internally buy such brute trauma, goes into shock and falls onto the pit's floor, ended by the sound of his neck snapping. RD runs and doesn't look back
He winces angrily and clenches his outstretched hand to a fist*
"So be it."
*he turns to those still in the pit*
"Come on, every pony. Lets go home."
(this is not a definitive take on my view of Rainbow Dash: I, Greatly thanks to your work, do not think she's evil, just lost, and even if she were to run this is not to say this means she's a complete internal traitor: she's probably trying to find a way to make sense of what's going on and now that there is something that the Rainbow Factory cant and wont stop: maybe there's a way out yet... Of course, he probably doesn't know that yet or have any evidence to support it, hence he's got all reason to think she's a full traitor, plus he's really angry and extremely disappointed.)

Trust me, you'll enjoy this section when done, as everything will be revealed. Keep in mind though, I plan in there being 9 sections with an epilogue. So I'm not gonna be done when sec 8 is released

yes, much better. I can feel the darkness more from this pick...
call me crazy... but I've seen the animated PMVs on youtube "rainbow factory" and "Awoken" and I cope to a degree by pretending to be basically a 3rd party individual that's involved of his own accord, similar to Raptor.
one that can literally take out full grown pegasai with single punches for a LONG time if he wants to... but he really doesn't want to tangle with a sonic rainboom... he can survive small nukes point blank (I actually haven't figured the specifics) but if something is faster than him or hits hard enough to break his armor... he dodges or lessens the damage and goes on to hit vulnerable spots: he never gives up (or at least tries not to)
point is: he's a megaman-esk reploid (sentient robot that can evolve with experience and upgrades)
There is an alternate universe of the megaman games told through rock music by the band "The protomen"
one song is called "Vengeance" I can see my character jumping in right at the last minute to catch the crooks off guard and save the innocent pony nearest to death and give living meaning to the word "vengeance" to those of the rainbow factory

It's not crazy. I've done exactly that with Raptor. He is me, I am him. He is the me I wish I was lol. This is mainly why ITRF exists. To some degree I am enacting my vengeance (as you put it) on the Rainbow Factory

You improved quite a bit, I would say, especially your shading got better!

shading was pretty much non-existent in the original lol. then again the original i used Photoshop to color it. this image was completely done in SAI.

For sketching line arting shading and hand made texturing Sai is an amazing tool. It has some brushes to help with texturing, but I'm finding photoshop to be a better choice for the more complex textures.

I like how this feels like a boiler room. The light is really interesting and mysterious! Might I suggest lowering the contrast on the wall pattern so that it recedes?

i was attempting to do that, but quickly lost the most important thing when drawing....my patience...i really need to learn to stop...move to something else and come back >.<. thx though
and when i read the story, this is how i imagined it in my head; a dark, not so well lit room. who needs to see anyway? lol. oh yeah...the failures so that they can get their spectra flowing good and well for harvesting >:}
