Oh don't worry, I've read volume one! I remember it being one of the most refreshing comic stories I had read
I heard a lot of bad things about volume two though, and so far I've refrained from touching it.

Well, the second one is not bad, it is just.. I dunno, it is another. The drawing style is not that sweet as Cheung's in vol.1, their relations are more dramatic and so on. I've read it too, of course, because it is the only YA volume I have bought in a store. I wish I had also the first volume but it is unreal to find it, sigh.

I see... well, one of the things that originally repelled me from vol. 2 was the art style.

Agreed. Cheung's style is softer. And the most unfitting for them style was in New Avengers vol.4. They're too adult and too rough there! And Billy has awful haircut. And muscles! I can't imagine Billy with muscles as if he was a bodybuilder.
