I beat dragon age Origins again yesterday... I started dragon age II with actually being able to use my origin's import... I'm gonna pull through all the shitty dungeons so I can experience all the feels when I play Inquisition again.
ALISTAIR AND CULLEN FOR LIFE!!!

i actually really like DA2s backgrounds.
It also makes it kinda funny when you think that they all look the same since Varric is telling the story
and he sucks at describing places.
Alistair is rad, Cullen is..........
no.
Boy won't romance qunari or dwarves >:c
Also still mad at him for saying mages aren't people.
Least Alistair saw mages as people, dated any race, and would side with the mages at the tower.
Cullen wanted them all dead.
Cullen needs to chill.

(First I want to apologize for the essay. I just love Dragon Age. also, everything that is stricken, are just side thoughts I was having.)
DA2: You know, that is a really awesome way to think about the dungeons. They look the same because Varric is telling the story. I think that will help with the relative sameness when I play through it. I like the backgrounds too, they are detailed very well.
Cullen: If you romance Cullen as a female mage in Inquisition, he repents his actions. He admits he was in a really dark place in DAO - DA2. So many of his friends died because of what happened with the mages in the circle and in Kirkwall, so of course he is going to be bitter about it. I know that doesn't make it right and I'm not trying to say that it does and I agree that what he tired to do was horrible, but I also believe he wasn't in his right mind.(Sanity wise) For starters he is a Templar and addicted to Lyrium. Isn't that how the Chantry controls the templars? He is also grief stricken at the loss of his friends. Friends of which demons tortured and killed in front of him in Origins. (also what ever the hell happened in DA2). So, I doubt many would walk away from that thinking "Hey, Mages are great people!" Unfortunately it really only takes one rotten apple to make a bunch of apples look bad. :/
He even says he feels ashamed, for most of his actions and thoughts about mages, that before having met the inquisitor he says he didn't think he could ever bring himself to love a mage. despite the fact if you play a female mage in Origins, he is totally in love with you. He especially feels guilty for what happened under Knight Commander Meridith - which I have yet to see what happens, but Imma do my darndest to save the mages. He didn't think he was really in a position to be questioning his orders, though he admits he should have. (Maybe I will change my mind through DA2 gameplay, I hope not because I really like his character and it has been sort of a dream of mine to be able to romance him since DAO, so hearing everything that happened to him made me kinda sad.)
What I love about these games is that there are so many different ways to play and so many different things can happen. Especially with the characters themselves. Just because it happens one way with one player doesn't mean it will be the same for another. Like seriously, I didn't like Sera at all until you showed me how awesome she really is. I thought she was hard to get a long with, but it was rather easy, and fun, when you got on her side of things. So I guess Cullen can come across the same way if you aren't allowed inside that 'inner circle'. (Besides it isn't the Cullens fault he doesn't like qunari or dwarves - he was programmed that way ) I totally agree that saying mages aren't people is a shitty thing to say. Mages tend to have been my favorite people in the game. They are my favorite class to play as in inquisition.
but between Alistair and Cullen, I would have to choose Cullen. Don't get me wrong, I love Alistair. He is funny and absolutely charming. I will pick him every time in Origins, even if I try to romance someone else. But there is just something in Cullen I admire so much. Maybe it's his struggle to overcome who he was in the past or it's because ever since I played a mage in origins I wanted to pursue him. (Ramen haired bastard.) I am fairly certain that the developers programmed him to go either way - morality wise. Like he could shut off and hate mages even more or come to see the mistake of his actions. It's all up to interpretation.
These games are so intense!
(Again I apologize for the essay.)
omg... You have sims right?? have you tried to make all the DA characters in Sims???? OMG i only have sims 3 for xbox360 and Im going to totally do that... omg.

It matches him well tho!
I can see him wearing long coats too, like trench or pea-coats even though it's warmish out. Even big thrift store sweaters.
