I like how you shaded the eyes! Nice job man~
Homestucks don't have a set eye color, do they?

well their eye color is usually their like.. blood?? color?? idk how to explain. or the color of the thing on their shirt. but karkats is red.. but his shirt color thing is grey..
So it confuses if i should make his eyes red or grey

Well, the official art of the characters just has black, so anything else is just fan speculation, right? I'm sure this is fine! Red and yellow looks much better than gray and yellow would, I think.

They have gray skin, sunken orange eyes with gray irises (according to Vriska, these fill in with the troll's blood pigment as they age.
Curiously a wiggler's eye color is the same as their blood color, while teenage trolls have grey irises

I guess since most of it is fan interpretation. I also find that colored eyes are more interesting then the grey eyes they have in the webcomic. Also, Homestuck tends to confuse me a lot - I use the Homestuck Wiki to help explain things for me... :I

Well, all I know about Homestuck is the part I read before I gave up on, haha. xP
Colored eyes would seem to lend the designs a stronger sense of visual unity.

Understandably. Sadly, many of the character designs are quite lazy, especially the many humanoid characters - pretty much the same base with different features applied or just change the symbol on their shirt and OMGNEWCHARACTER. :/
As for me, not sure if I like or hate Homestuck. It seems more of a beautiful hateship xD

The generic ones actually don't bug me, which is weird for me to say considering I'm usually all about character diversity and not just sticking to a formula. I've heard that the point of the Homestuck art style is to merely provide a simple template onto which the readers can project their own "headcanon" appearances, and that sits alright with me. Although I do find the super saiyan ancestor versions and the redundant cousins/friends/clones/whatever that were introduced after I stopped reading to be excessive and frequently goofy looking.
The designs that pissed me off were like... Eriden and the girl underwater troll. Her design was just a mess IMO. Nepeta and the 3D glasses guy weren't very good either--none of their colors worked together--but at least they were simple and coherent. I gave up not long after the underwater trolls were introduced because the story just kept adding new elements out of nowhere instead of cleaning up its still-hanging plot threads. @_@
I don't hate Homestuck, but between sloppy writin and the horrible fandom, I definitely don't have a high opinion of it either.

Yah, the amount of characters they keep introducing is kind of annoying especially when I've heard that Homestuck is supposed to end sometime this year so the video game from the Kickstarter can begin.
Oh, the underwater trolls? Yah, Feferi's clothes are an eyesore and overly bright and clashes with each other. I kind of like Eridan in that he's kind of a jerk BUT. I seemed to have forgotten what I was typing... .o. Where I stopped reading (aka looking at the art because I didn't have time to read) was the start of Act 5. I kind of want to see why there are so many troll art and, to be honest, their dialog is really hard for me to get into and read because of their typing quirks.
The one thing I have a problem with is the many anti-climatic and one sided battles. They can build up UBER-STRONG villians/opponenets only to have to defeated in just a few pages. Like in a certain troll's death, he just STANDS there. Actually, quite a few of them just sit there while they get violently murdered. It just...waiting for some AMAZING battle for weeks only to be disappointed in the end. This story actually has a high amount of characters that get killed off but they do it wrong. A webcomic like Goblins have better character developed (for me anyway). Which is why when the latest character that got killed off, I had to go QQ in the garage for a few minutes.
Oddly, I do have a soft spot for the exiles. Their misadventures entertained me which is why I had feels later for them ;~;
I rather tolerate them then the creepy bronies

I wonder how they can wrap up all the crazy stuff they've got going on in only a year? Ah well, I'm totally out of the loop, so for all I know they finally got around to cleaning up some of the things that were forgotten about in the first couple acts.
I'm not even sure what act I stopped reading at, but the increasingly implausible "typing quirks" definitely made it harder and less rewarding to read. I got into it expecting to love the trolls like everyone else seemed to, but they just completely failed to impress me. Karkat and Gamzee and Nepeta and... blind girl, and... well, pretty much just those were pretty okay characters IMO, even if I hated Nepeta's design. But I didn't find the others to be particularly entertaining, especially when their dialog was a chore to read, and I certainly didn't find them as a group to be better than the original four human characters.
The exiles are the weird super saiyan dudes, right? I didn't get that far. I don't remember many battles either, except for the flash animation one that was themed around chess pieces. @_@ Soooo much stuff happening lol.

Yah. I kind of check the recent pages just because I'm curious about what's happening and they introduced TRICKSTER MODE. OUT OF NOWHERE. Stop introducing more plot elements! There's already over more than enough!
Well, you got far enough where you got to meet the sea dwelling trolls. Not sure if you got futher where they started killing each other for whatever reason because didn't get far either! And character shouldn't be defined by the quirking types. And I find it odd how because of Homestuck, typing incorrectly is suddenly cool... :I Oh and when you get later, apparently, the change the four main kids to different ones...
The exiles actually appear in ealier acts. They're the characters in rags or caution tape. One is the mayor of a town of cans...if I remember correctly. Who are the super saiyan dudes? :v

I just got burned out with the whole "here's a plot element--NO HERE'S ANOTHER--WAIT HERE'S YET ANOTHER--GUYS YOU KNOW WHAT'S COOL? HOW ABOUT TIME TRAVEL AND ALIENS AND CLONES???" It's way too much to take in and keep track of, and I just got tired of eternally waiting for existing plot threads to be finished while constantly being barraged by rapid-fire introduction of new ones.
I know Gamzee started killing other characters later or something-- read a little farther than I did before giving up and told me about it, but I don't really know or remember the details.
TOO MANY CHARACTERS. I've at least seen some of the later ones from the couple of people I still follow who like Homestuck, but I've given up trying to keep track of them all.
Ohhh yeah I remember those guys. I'd almost entirely forgotten about them since they seemed to have almost nothing to do with the "main" plot. @_@ I'm talking about the uh... ancestors? The ones that are like the main trolls but with absurdly ridiculous designs that are cranked up to 11.

It's kinda cool that there's so much room for people to make their own interpretations! I like the idea of that even if I'm not a fan of the comic itself. ^^
