Description
Hide wasn't usually one for adventures. The old man had little to no desire to put himself in what could only be considered a dangerous situation. But the news he had caught on the wind was too much to ignore. Tyrians? In the area? The old Reosean couldn't ignore that kind of information. And it had certainly sparked a small flame of childish curiosity within the old man. He would definitely have to see for himself what this was all about, and he had heard mention made of a cave. A whisper on the wind that one of the cave systems was home to one of these tyrians. And with that bit of knowledge, Hide decided he would set out to see for himself just what was going on.
He arrived at the mouth of a known gem cave just outside of Gervais, just as the information he had recieved had stated, and Hide frowned. He had some doubts about this, but he was there. So in his mind, there was no point in avoiding it - so in he went, and what an eerie but colourful surprise. Gems. Everywhere. Loose on the floor of the cavern, embedded in the rocks around him, hiding among the stalagtites and stalagmites. He lowered his head as he entered the caves, careful of where he stepped. Something just didn't feel right about the caves. He wasn't alone... Perhaps these stories he had heard had some value afterall? Hide glanced around as he pondered what his approach to this would be. He was no spelunker, that was for sure, and he briefly considered using the loose stones on the floor to mark a trail. But that would only lead to confusion - there were far too many loose stones and gems to ever solidly mark a pathway - and besides... What if someone moved them? Hide shook his head and raised a paw, letting it fall heavily back down to the damp cave floor with an audible thud. No, he'd remember his way. Hide had a decent memory, and he'd found his way out of more difficult areas before. But that was so long ago.
With his head still lowered, Hide moved farther into the caverns, ears rotating at any sudden sound. The bright, warm light of the outside world was soon replaced with a damp, musty darkness. Hide's eyes adjusted as he went, but it was still getting darker, the only light was from the faint glow of the gems that littered the cave.
