Description This is the uniform of a Lord Lieutenant in the Victorian era. It resembles an Infantry Officer's tunic, with the scarlet colour and black cuffs. I love the embroidery of the Silver Bullion on the cuffs and collar. Brilliant works and detail. The buttons have the crown of Queen Victoria. Thankfully, it fits me nicely. Not to big, not to small. Theres even a little growing space if I need it.

The title Lord Lieutenant is given to the British monarch's personal representatives around the United Kingdom, usually in a county or similar circumscription, with varying tasks throughout history. Usually a retired local notable, senior military officer, peer or business person is given the post honourarily. The office can be considered viceregal and equivalent to that of a Governor-General in another realm of the monarch than the Home Nations. A Lord Lieutenant raised and was responsible for the efficiency of the local militia units of the county, and afterwards of the yeomanry, and volunteers and was Commander of these forces, whose officers he appointed. Ebay i'm afraid. Only place for me to grab uniforms to add to my collection. I'm glad you like it, the silver embroidery is magnificent. If you like that, have a look at some of the other uniforms in here. They have gold bullion embroidery in the cuffs and collar, instead of silver.

Wouldn't mind seeing you in a Boxer REbellion-era Royal Marine whites, or maybe the Khakis. I've heard those are rather spiffing.

Neither would I for that matter! I'd kill for a full royal marine uniform. I've had my eye on a few, but always taken from be by a few extra pounds...

I'm rather pleased with it. Dry cleaning did the trick by the way. Also, you may notice several diferences on this tunic compared to yours. For example, the cuff pattern, and the fact that yours has gold roses on the collar, which mine do not. Any idea why that is? I figured it was from a slightly different time period.
