Description FINALLY, at long last I decided to upload my collection of sketches from my entire high school years. It was such a pain trying to arrange them all, even in batches @.@

And here's tribute to Wild ARMs-the game which first introduced to the words "coolness", "freedom" and "adventure".

Wild ARMs belongs to....the rightful creator O.o
Doodles by me.

I'm good at being mediocre in everything, if that can be considered a talent.

Jack of all trades, huh? Sometimes it's much better than being good at everything-and you couldn't choose what to do at the end.

yeah, well that's kind of me, it's like, I can do just about anything I'm tought to do, but I can't do any one thing really all that well.

One day you'll find the activity you most well suited at. You don't need to be so expert at it-as long as you have fun in the whole process!

Xyyme In reply to RadenWA [2010-10-17 08:17:47 +0000 UTC]

highschool student.
spare time I program games make traditional Native American stuff, play Native American flutes, Create strange weapons, write stories, write poetry, edit images, play video games, etc. The list goes on for miles, those are just the main things.

RadenWA In reply to Xyyme [2010-10-17 08:26:22 +0000 UTC]

That's obviously more exciting than my life now. All I did are drawing and doing college assignments which are basically more drawings. Oh, and look, you can program!

Having lots of stuffs to do is much better than just focusing on one thing. Once you got bored of one stuff, just switch to others-and if you ran out of activities, go out and find a new activity-or get sleep. Without you realize, you would just get good in any of them. It's just about time.

Xyyme In reply to RadenWA [2010-10-17 08:33:02 +0000 UTC]

no, I'm only mediocre at anything I do, and I just get frustrated when I can't do something because I'm not skilled enough. I have notebooks that I cut through with a pencil because I was so pissed, and I've smashed a tv screen before. The only thing I seem to have a talent for is loosing my patience...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RadenWA In reply to Xyyme [2010-10-17 11:15:12 +0000 UTC]

Frustation happens, but it takes time to be skilled. I simply just got a head start. If I collect my sketches from since the first time I draw, when I was like 5, I'll get a bunch of piles of papers-and every of them are so bad that I don't mind to rip them off, but they're all part of the process, and lead my way through what I am now.

And this might sound cliche, but friends could help-both to give you an idea on how to do things, and support you through the process. Cos you know that a fresh eye can see your works better than your own eye which's already sore and bored to see the stuff...

then please, look at my manga and help me. I've learned that as time goes on and I practice things more and read how to books more I get worse.

RadenWA In reply to Xyyme [2010-10-17 12:09:20 +0000 UTC]

You're at the first stage of developing your drawing: finding things which looks good to your eye and try to imitate it. Relax, EVERYONE starts there. Even I ever went as low as completely tracing the outlines of the figure. But it's a good start-it gives you an idea on the basic proportions and positioning of the body parts.

My suggestion is...find a particular style which is ESPECIALLY strikes your interest. Is it realistic proportions or chibi? Detailed or simple, 3D or flat? Once you decided, go ahead again and find pictures which fits that sense-and continue imitating, soon or later your style will develop by itself. I ever try to imitate shojo drawings, but at the end, my heart chose shonen and here I am now.

That feeling that the drawing gets worse is only your feeling. Sure your drawing will turn out a BIT less or more impressive depending on your mood when you did them, but they never get worse UNLESS if you haven't been drawing for a looong time. Major improvements will happen when you realized some new techniques to apply for your style. For me, my major improvements happen when I first used skeleton structures. Then I began adding nose, giving a shape to the head and much more. BUT they all start from a long period of my flat, unproportioned doodles.

All in all, have you got an idea on where you gonna apply your drawing in your future career? It might help determine what style you'll go for.

I have no idea of what help I can be by making all this long writing through internet..but anyways, maybe this can give you an insight of some sort. [link]
