Description Oskar Schindler was the greatest German of all time.
As a tribute to this amazing man, I write a FF about him. If you wish to check it out, follow the link. If not, but you may want to learn something about him, just read after the link.

Oskar Schindler was a tycoon who defyed the doctrine of Adolf Hitler, and by sacrificing his millions of dollars, his business and nearly his life, he managed to save about 1200 pursued jews from Auschwitz by letting them work in his factory, though he did not actually produce anything there. Though member of the NSDAP, he was truly a saint. At the end of the war, he managed to convince the Nazi-soldiers who were stationed in his factory to not eliminate his 'children' as tasked, making them return to their families like men, not monsters.
He cried over the fact that he may could have saved more by selling other things he did not needed, but he was convinced by his bookmaker and best friend, Itzhak Stern, a jew, that he saved the world by saving the jews.
He was pursued, but he had not to endure any form of punishment like every other member of the NSDAP. He became an honored man in Germany and a saint in Jerusalem and spent the rest of his life poorly and unsucessful. But in his dying breath, he was happy to have his 'children' around him, and with pride instead of being a monster, he died.
Schindler's grave is located on the mountainside below Zion Gate and the Old City walls. Stones placed on top of the grave are a sign of gratitude from Jewish visitors, according to Jewish tradition, although Schindler himself was not Jewish. On his grave, the Hebrew inscription reads: "Righteous among the Nations", an honorific used by the State of Israel to describe non-Jews who risked their lives during the Holocaust to save Jews from extermination by the Nazis. The German inscription reads: "The Unforgettable Lifesaver of 1200 Persecuted Jews"
He was quoted as saying "I knew the people who worked for me... When you know people, you have to behave towards them like human beings."

This man is my personal hero and rolemodel. He awakened something in me I thought was gone forever. Faith in humanity. Seeing that a light can shine even in the gloomiest of all darknesses, I feel I have to tribute him by shining as well for others. I will never be as amazing as Schindler, but I will honor his legacy as best as I can, even though I am not a jew, just another German

The best German, maybe the best man of the entire world, was in fact... A nazi...

You got the quote wrong, but don't worry the movie got it wrong as well. It's "He who saves one life, saves a world entire." Its a minor mistake but the mistake makes it seem that if you save one life you save the world. The quotes actually saying that you save a persons world. You save their hopes and their dreams, aka their world. It's not that big a deal but I thought you should know that!

Your heart is in the right place, but I find the ponyfication of Oskar Schindler offensive.

I surely will not. Thank you very much by the way.

Oskar Schindler is truly a man to be inspired of. I just feel the urge to tribute him for all of his great deeds, like no man ever before. I will surely not give up writing.

Have a nice day.
