Toolbag Notes:
Translucency can create pixelated effects, but only for directional and omni lights. Spot lights creates very nice and smooth translucency.
Omni light's shadow resolution is dependant on scene scale (width of all object in scene). Large scene = blocky shadows. Increasing the
light's volume will make the shadows smoother and hide the blockiness. Interestingly, spot lights do not seem suffer from the same
problem. The shadows produced by spot lights are much more high res.
The scene uses a sky, one directional light as its main light, and 4 omni lights placed at each corner of the scene. The front omni lights
helps to even out the main light. The back omni lights throw in some highlights on breasts and shoulders. Without them, I felt the lighting
was too flat and boring.Β
Camera Postwork settings:
contrast 1.09
contrast balance 0.2
These changes made the dark parts a little darker.

For this image I rendered two images. One with smoothed models (done in blender) and one with vanilla models.
The smoothed model lost some stomach definition so I needed the vanilla ones for that. A little photoshop
masking to get the best of both worlds.

Toolbag uses Physical based rendering (PBR), just like the new principled node in blender. If you have used that nodeΒ you
shouldΒ have no problem understanding toolbag's shaders. Things are named a bit differently, but all things are there.
When I do hair in Toolbag I use glossiness 40% (roughness 60%), specular strength 0.03, and a great deal of fuzz
( = sheen in blender). The fuzz I give a color close the hair albedo map (base color). If anything should be praised,
I want to praise the fuzz for how the hair looks.

It is lit by 5 light sources. One directional main light, and 4 omni support lights placed at each corner (e.g. front-left, front-right, behind-left, behind-right).
This makes the scene very well lit. The front-right omni light is also extra orange, which gives the picture a warm touch.
I applied some contrast in postwork setting in the camera. This makes the dark shadows darker, and in a little way it also increase saturation ( a side effect of contrast)

Interesting... i tried mixing lights, but like 6 lights one day that i got garry's mod, i refunded the game but i tested that with a lot of lights and i can imagine the effect that someone can get if he knows how to mix them, plus the perspective and angles... .
You were right sir about the rendering software, you can do that in different types of software as long as they have access to those options like lights and stuff.
