Description "You little shit! Get the fuck off the floor!" He was kicked and, being the lanky, weak boy he was, slid into the wall head first. Tom twitched seeing the boy fly into the wall, it was, and after all, very unpleasant to watch himself get brutally beaten.

"Get the fuck up, you little bastard!" the woman screeched again. The small boy stood, he was duck footed and his posture was slightly slouched. "Where are they!?"

"I-I don't know ma'am," the boy squeaked.

"You lying mother fucker!" The woman began to throw heavy objects at the boy, most made of glass that shattered against the wall. "You always take them! You use them!"

The ten year-old knew full well what had happened to his mother's drugs, he had taken them and hidden them. She was crazy without them but he'd wanted to make her a proper mother… if they were gone maybe she'd go back to the way she was before dad had left. "I didn't ma'am…" he said.

"DO NOT SPEAK WHEN I HAVEN'T ALLOWED YOU TO! You dumb fuck!" She threw a pan at the boy and it hit him in the knee making him fall. "Get the fuck up! I didn't say you could sit down!" Again the boy stood. This went in a cycle for ten good minutes before the world began to shake.

"Tom! Tom wake up!" a voice yelled from far away. Tom's eyes snapped open and a very naked Liam was above him, holding his shoulders. "Tom, are you all right?" Liam asked.

Tom's heart was thumping in his chest so brutally it almost hurt. He was dizzy and cold and his body was covered in sweat. Sweat that reminded him of the chilling details in his dream. Tom was freezing. He felt like crying. He felt like breaking down and bawling until all the tears in his body were gone and running down his cheeks and soaking the sheets. He wanted to complain to Liam and tell him every harsh detail and seek pity that he knew all too well Liam would provide. But, he refused to show Liam just how weak he really was. "Nothing, just a little nightmare," Tom said softly hoping to quell Liam's thirst for information.

"Well, no shit. I know it was a nightmare. But from the way you were panicking I don't think it was very little. Now tell me, what happened?" Liam wouldn't let up.

"I said nothing, Liam. Just go back to sleep," Tom growled and turned from Liam, pulling the covers over him. The room was dark and the only light in it was that of a crescent moon which shone in through a small separation in the curtains. The sheets didn't seem to help warm him up at all. In fact, he felt entrapped beneath them and his skin itched to get out from under them. All the while his arms quivered and he bit his lip to keep his teeth from chattering uncontrollably and his silent sobs from turning into audible ones.

"I love you Tom," a small voice said from seemingly miles away but Tom wasn't listening. And if he was, he wouldn't have been able to answer. Tom was trying to figure out how to get home, get a small fix and get back in time to make Liam breakfast. He felt physically ill for being so cruel to Liam.

Once he heard Liam's soft snores he sat up in place and rubbed his face. His legs were weak and they trembled beneath him as he attempted to stand. His knees gave out under him and he landed sitting on the bed once again. His mind needed to get out of this place but his body couldn't let him leave Liam like that. His second attempt was more successful as he was able to stand and retrieve his clothes and then sit to dress himself. He still shivered, but now only slightly, as he had his sock and shoes on and he was beginning to warm up. Collecting his belongings, Tom tip-toed out of the room, downstairs and out the door of the flat without stirring Liam in the slightest.

The night was colder than any other night Tom could remember before. He was shaking so violently as he strolled down the sidewalk that he determined that if he did not get into a warm place soon, he would freeze to death (considering he had no jacket or warm clothing of any sort). He found a café that for some reason was still open at midnight. He ducked in and decided to buy himself a nice cup of hot chocolate, he wasn't in the mood for coffee. When his beverage was ready he picked it up and reveled in the comforting warmth as the heat completely enveloped him and he felt safe in this place. "Note to self: Remember this place, it could just be my new hang out." He thought to himself as he sat down on a bar stool facing the window displaying the mysteriously magical outside night. Tom smiled softly as he noticed something that made the night even more magical. It had begun to snow. Maybe he wouldn't need to go home after all. Maybe he wouldn't need that fix.
