I've seen these in the local supermarket.
I seriously think activision are really milking Spyro/skylanders for all its worth

My brother bought two packets of them from Tesco.
We didn't see the starter pack.

I'm also happy that we got the shiny Spyro card. :3

And yep, they've just been released! I got mine from WHSmith, though no doubt they'll turn up at other card stockists soon as well X3
