Koda is a somewhat hyperactive boy who craves travel. He smiles to anyone he sees and is always open to conversation. He sees the good in everyone around him, and isn't one to ostracize someone no matter where they've come from. He loves to run around for fun and games and is always on his feet from dawn til dusk. To spend his almost limitless gauge of energy, he's become an adventurer, travelling his region of birth (Hoenn) and now arriving to the Isla.

As someone who rushes from one activity to the next, he is one to make many mistakes. He always owns up to them, often splurging a string of apologies while trying to correct the error. He is also always seeking knowledge, often sticking his nose where it doesn't belong. He wants to be in-the-know for everything revolving Pokemon and the world around him. He couldn't care less for social stigmas and gossip, as he'd never judge a person by the rumors of another. Being so, he is quite naïve and oblivious to the darkness within others.

There will be times throughout his journey that he struggles to know what to do. Sometimes the urge to do the smart thing conflicts with what he feels in his heart. His fear of mistakes may bring him to a standstill in these situations. But if there is a moment where standing around with indecision is not an option, he will do whatever decision he feels strongest no matter the danger it puts him in. He is a risk taker and doesn't think for his own safety in the precense of others. To make it worse, it is easy to mess with his head. He will believe anything that is told to him, making him a prime target to manupulate. The only thing he will never be convinced of his to doubt the goodness of others. To him, even the darkest kind of people need a friend.

「 . . . 」Koda was born into a quiet household. Once he was able to fend for himself during his parents' long business trips they stopped hiring the babysitter. His elder sister Iris had an avid passion for Pokemon and was long in the midst of training away from home, leaving a young Koda often alone and very lonely. Without having developed the social confidence to go out and find his own friends to spend his time with, he'd stay in the livingroom and watched every program related to Pokemon on the TV he could find. With this, he absorbed knowledge like a sponge, able to spit names of 'mons like holding the arrow key on a Pokedex. During the days Iris did come home, they'd hang out before the television and cheer on the contestents for the region's top Pokemon contests. Koda would learn of his sister's passion for these events as she would never miss a broadcast. Her passion was tangible, and it resonated in him to start finding a path of his own.

He'd soon realize by the hollerings at the TV and the nitpicking of mistakes by the gym challengers in their losses that he had ambition for battle. Koda would also recieve his first pokemon as an egg from mom and dad on his 6th birthday, and it would hatch into a Phione. It wasn't the legendary Manaphy that he'd always talk about meeting someday, but this was a precious gift he'd cherish forever, and it'd be the key to open doors for his path of a trainer.

As Iris trained for beauty and prestige on the contest stage, Koda trained his growing party for power on the gym stage. As the two of them travelled Hoenn in search of themselves, they would only communicate sporadically through the Pokegear given to them by their parents the summer they'd leave home. Koda would obtain a Trapinch as his first successful capture just on the outskirts of Route 111. As Phione demonstrated a lesser interest in battle, he'd switch to begin training Trapinch as his main combat companion.

By the time he was 16, Koda had trained his Trapinch into a fearsome Flygon, and had caught a riley Grovyle along the way. Although he had much to accomplish in the land of Hoenn, he knew almost everything about the region because of the TV programs he'd always watch back home. So when news of a ship arriving at the ports to take trainers to a new region, one called Isla-Crescendo, he wouldn't miss his chance to spend his adventuring in a place that actually sought those just like him. Little did he know that his elder sister had the same idea!
