Description
Finished reading the manga Gantz somewhat recently, & wanted to do a little tribute. Female version of the typical portrayed [male] hardsuit.ΒModeled in 3ds max, rendered in Octane. Passes used: beauty (PMC), zdepth and material ID.
Few minor mesh/render artifacts to fix, & textures to the suit I may add.

Hey Sonedo, thanks. =] Possibly, but I'd have to re-topologize and texture the model for real-time since VR gaming requires it as such. If people are really interested in it then I may be willing to make a real-time version in my spare time.

wish madhouse got the rights to make an anime of Gantz now the series ended, honestly all the good stuff hapenned on the manga way after the anime's end XD

Thought this was a photo for a second and I was wondering how on earth you made that. Saw it was a 3D rendering and I still don't know how on earth you made that. It looks so real! Nice job. Cool design, too.

How many hours did you do it with octane? I'm thinking of getting octane myself but still haven't because i don't want to spend THAT much when the render times aren't that different.

I let it render while I slept (I believe I woke up 4 hours in, & most of the noise appeared to be gone) Considering the resolution of the final image I was pretty happy with how it turned out. For testing/preview purposes I usually view at a lower resolution --- waiting between 1 and 10 mins. How quickly the render gathers samples & reduces noise is based on multiple factors though, e.g the number of lights, light placement, camera placement relative to geometry, materials & so on. It's one of my favorites in any case. =}

Thanks for that, i just read through octane's stuff and i see that it might complement my incoming card well (just ordered a Leadtek Quadro 2k earlier today, cause this is the only sh** i can afford atm. Sadly i have to wait since apparently workstation graphic cards are NOT common stuff where i'm at)

There's no way the human's arms are gonna fit in those arms. They could be crossed across the chest or something, while the robot arms are controlled by nerve wire implants.

Thanks! I also loved the suit when I first saw it; it has a different appearance detail/proportion-wise that gives you the impression it can do some serious damage within melee range.
