A present for my gf, inspired by the Seeliewood environment from Tera. Modeled in 3ds Max, rendered in Octane, post in Photoshop.

Fantastic work on the colours, as well as the lighting. I like the soft light and the moody but bright colours. You've pulled it of swimmingly. The only problem I see in this render is the composition, and the points of focus, so to say. I see that the man and the woman are supposed to be the centre of attention, but it fails to pull it off, probably because:
1) They aren't contrasted enough with respect to the background ( The mountains are quite contrasted and that's what I saw first, before seeing the human beings.)
2) They aren't *bright* enough. I see very little detail on this side. Hence it doesn't have anything to attract me as soon as I see the picture.
I think you can work on that by adding a nice orange-ish lamp on the near side, hence the contrast (in colour) and the detail. But I am not sure that that would work.
A different, closer camera angle will probably work better. Something that's nearer to the pillars, and a slightly lower angle. That would keep all your mountain details, and the houses, plus put the couple in focus. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s⦠" width="15" height="15" alt="

This is insanely impressive. Β I am jealous of your skills. Β If you don't mind me asking, how did you pull off the trees? Β While I know a few tricks for 3-D modeling, those leaves are the tricky part. Β Any tips you care to share would be awesome.

Thanks Yamazaki. For foliage I usually model myself & then scatter, and for trees I typically use xfrog. This time I used a great script by Avizstudio called Atree3D, in which you control all the parameters of your tree/plant & it updates the model in real-time. Well, two lovers in the moonlight is an old as time tale. I doubt LoTR was the first to do it lol
It just got stuck in my head because the atmosphere was so surreal and peaceful. And this 3D illustration was the closest to evoke that feeling of peacefulness and magic.
