Description Brand

I subscribe to Brand,
Don't you?
Of course you do!
But...
What is Brand?
Everybody wants it,
Wants to be different,
To be 'individual'
And yet...
They all subscribe to 'Brand'.
Big Brands
From Big Coporations...
Why?
'Be unique...
But not too unique!'

I made my own Brand
It is just for me you know.
It has no Nike Label,
No K-Swiss shoes.
It has no outward symbol...
Except for on my arm.
A Simple Brand
For the Brand Slave I am
Like any other Cattle.
The Rest of it
Is all in my heart
and in my head too.

Of course my Brand
Gets no 'Respec' '
I never said it would
And so I blaspheme
Against the great gods
Those that rule 'Brand'.
It is MY identity,
It is who I am.
So in this world of Logos,
Tell me...

What is your Brand?

everyone can be seen as an individual but i also feel that individuals get together with other like individuals, these people are not trying to be like eachother, they just unconsciously are similiar in ways, whether its in music, clothes or deeper levels, people are similiar to some degree, some just stick out more then others,

if you look at it on a large scale, or real close you will notice that individuality is not just your skin, clothes, thoughts and feelings but is much more, that your individuality is also outside of yourself, and is composed of your friends, your scenery and so and so forth...but in the end who really knows...

I like your poem and your quest for individualism is definitely passionate and I applaud you for taking the stand to be different, can't help wandering if you will start a new trend in the designer darkness dudes and dudettes which is in a way opposite of what you are trying to achieve.

I don't have a brand and I really do not think my apperance defines me in any way, I don't wear any brands as the idea of paying lots of money for some idiot brand is pointless....thats not a defining feature in any way, just frugality.

I have never been botherd about fitting in, conforming or being part of "the crowd", and they in turn choose to stare at me for what they possibly see as genetic brands. I was born with white and black striped hair and have pale blue eyes but I aren't stupid enough to think these things define me. I don't go out of my way to be different, I don't follow fashion but I aren't a way out dresser either. I am in all respects apart from my physical apperance normal....

But that in it's self is a misleading statement isn't it, because in the end the thing that truly defines "you" and "I" isn't skin deep, it's certainly not the clothes or the brands you wear. Every single person is unique and I suppose deep down thats the horror...for if no one is the same then we are always going to be alone.

Maybe fitting in and conforming or the act of non conforming is a way of tricking yourself that there "ARE" others just like you

An ineresting take. certainly it is easier to conform, it gives you something to cling to when trying to relate to others... but maybe difference isn't the same as lonliness? You can be totally different people and still get on... even if it is more unusual... I try to be myself and I think so should others.

Hmmm...I wonder why tou did this.. Just because you were bored?or because you really wanted to harm you own body? I like this picture so much :d..

It is kinda hard to explain why someone self harms, for me it was just an attempt to release emotions without hurting others in the process. I am glad you like the pic! so what is your brand?

Made me think of some stuff odd phrases:

These scars are mine.
I rather rather like my "tiger stripes" they are part of me.
(there's always the fear that that when you're naked in front someone else - will they understand? - but at least they find out pretty quick - like a desktop short cut - loll)

Forgive me Ragados but I've only skimmed the comments above (doing a hit and run on the net this morning) - but this is a real scar? I'm so used to seeing all sorts of stage shots here and in other places that I really cant tell anymore - becoming a little desensitised too maybe. :s
You're one cool dude.
Will. B)

(ps. will be offline for about 4 days maybe btw - sorry for slow feedback etc)

Wow, that's so cool! And so true! And so, moving in a way... It really makes you think about how sick this world really is, and how without knowing so many people are just mindless slaves to the corporate world.

ragados In reply to inuchick [2005-01-25 09:15:13 +0000 UTC]

So what is your Brand? or do you wh0re yourself out to many? or try to deny them all?

inuchick In reply to ragados [2005-01-26 23:52:39 +0000 UTC]

Mmm... funny youd ask, I just made it a couple of days ago. It's a modified version of the tattoo on one of my characters cheek. You can see it on my avatar! I don't buy any particular brand of clothing or any other item though, I just buy what suits me!

DO you think of it as your brand? your identity? I have started using that symbol as a signature (check my drawings it features in most of them)

JaclynINSANEandALONE In reply to ragados [2005-01-25 13:45:34 +0000 UTC]

In which case what is your Brand? what identifies you as you, what logos do you wear?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

JaclynINSANEandALONE In reply to ragados [2005-01-25 14:58:42 +0000 UTC]

Nothing. I have nothing that identifies me so in fact the nothing -is- the brand
