Description

I told Nathanomir I had a pic idea but was waiting for his latest chapter in Shop Talk before I released it. Ivana tells the other woman about knowing Aura in the future and provides some details of this alternate Aura here Shop Talk, Chapter Twenty-OneSusan stared at Ivana with the most dumbfounded look on her face. Before she could ask the question, what do you mean, Ivana walked to the center of the shuttle. She turned on the monitor set into the bulkhead. Even though the screen showed hundreds of files, she knew the one she wanted. It was easy to find. She only looked at it once a month. With a flick of her finger, a photograph appeared on the screen.
Masumi and Susan gathered behind her. Even Alicia dried her face and joined them. As one, the three women gasped.
The photograph showed two women, wearing suits similar to the Star Suit, but gray instead of black. They stood in a war ruin. One woman was definitely a younger Ivana. The other … She had the same dark auburn hair. The same voluptuous figure. The same hooked nose, the same fulsome mouth, and especially the same emerald eyes that captured the soul.
“She looks just like Aura,” Alicia said.
“That’s because she is Aura Lockhaven,.

So here's a little pic of Aura with Ivana and Celeste on shore leave at the orbital station over Copernicus III just before the Imperials attack. Ivana almost lost her left leg, but Aura kept her from bleeding to death and saved her life during the battle. All members of Ivana's squad received the Medal of Honor while fighting off the ambushing orc patrols on the planet surface. The Colonial Alliance was victorious in the battle, but at great cost as three frigates and the orbital station were destroyed.

Gunnery Sergeant Ivana Petrovich -- squad commander

Corporal Celeste Ersong -- sniper

I haven't caught up with the story yet, but the preview image already showed me a 'future Aura' there so this doesn't count for spoiler as long as I resist reading any more of the description!

They look awesome!

Yumi started out as 5'9", and that is petite to me. (Can't help that I'm 6'5"....)

Marta Kanelos is currently the tallest at 5'9" and Monica at 5'8". Felicity is currently listed at 5'8", but being she's Sven's sister I could make her 6' since he's 6'7"

And 6'7" is way above average for a male, so you could even get away with 6'2" for her. Also, I would totally be willing to Harlowize her if you needed.

I could see that. They are Vikings after all.

btw, over on twitter don't like the #PitMad tweets, it's a pitch thing to agents and publishers, so retweets are cool but the likes are for agents who want to receive a query for the book/manuscript.

no worries. I'm waiting for another 15 minutes to put up my third and last one for the day. It's a 12 hour thing for writers to tweet pitch their finished books to agents. Limit 3 per manuscript. I have an agent who requested the full manuscript, but I haven't heard anything in about 5 months so taking part today to see what I might get.

Is that Sven's battle cry?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RagingCyc0ne In reply to TrentHarlow [2019-03-08 00:28:06 +0000 UTC]

No. It's actually a Viking greeting, but the fans in MN use it as a battle cry for Viking's home games.

TrentHarlow In reply to RagingCyc0ne [2019-03-08 00:41:04 +0000 UTC]

Does he have a battle cry? I have a idea in mind for him in a future chapter of my story, but if "Skol" is a greeting then it would work in the scene as well.

RagingCyc0ne In reply to TrentHarlow [2019-03-08 00:42:12 +0000 UTC]

He's kind of adopted it as one like the fans do. He's adapted to modern times to understand the old ways don't stay forever.

WOOHOO! And they're all happy for once. Darn those Orcs. If they hadn't attacked, we can only imagine what mischief these three would have gotten into.

RagingCyc0ne In reply to Nathanomir [2019-03-07 18:28:50 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I figured they have a few happy moments during the war. Emperor Korgath started the war because he feared humanity was about to surpass the Imperium in technological prowess...and if he'd waited just a few more years he would've been right. The Endeavor was that close to making its maiden voyage.
