great photo!! you should've put a placard in the holder that read don't go to the youtube link on a  cold gray day.

Man I will not listen to Levon Helm, Bob Marley, or Warren Zevonon already depressing days cause they'll be worth an extra cymbalta or two all three were great musicians that I miss greatly

Never thought the back of a semi trailer could be considered "elegant."   But I think I see what you mean....much appreciated.

It's the image itself...its composition, that I see as elegant.  A semi trailer, ehh?

Yes it is.

My wife sees that too, even though this is one of her least favorite--she sees religious connotations--which aren't there, at least in my mind.

Thanks Douglas.  I am back from "Argentina."

Yes, Levon.  I wasn't a big fan of The Band but I was a fan of Levon Helm.  He was "authentic."  He was good at thirty and good at seventy.

- welcome back !
Levon was the real deal - that's for sure . But , personally , I think the Band was one of the most
original bands ever -- more American in their sound and lyrics - despite being mostly Canadian musicians.
They certainly had a unique , and immediately identifiable style, that , to me , sounded pretty authentic .

I would agree.

If I remember right The Band was originally "The Hawks," and for a time backed up Dylan.  I had no love for Robbie Robertson and I suppose that's what hurt them for me.  And at the time I was mostly listening to the Blues.  I had forgotton Levon until my wife bought "Electric Dirt," I'll not forget him again.

Yes - Robbie had an ego - and could be a pain in the ass - he went to the bank with all the writing credits - but the Band wouldn't have been the band without him !
I think a lot of artist/musicians are not necessarily nice people - Picasso was an asshole by most accounts - so it's always a question as to whether we give a creative
pass if they are assholes ---( I'm sure Robbie has some redeeming qualities - but he rubbed me the wrong way too ).
The Hawks started here in Toronto - and split from Ronnie Hawkins to back Dylan ----- I saw one of those concerts and only think
they did a passable job ( no where equal to the recorded versions by Dylan ) - plus Dylan's vocal style started to become more affected .
I heard 'Electric Dirt' and quite liked it too .................. and - you can never go wrong listening to the blues - in my 'humble' opinion
