"garage selling" cracked me up. Maybe it was the kids that were for sale.

You are missing out on something, I have found some pretty cool stuff for sculptures at them.

We have flee markets (where it is impossible to buy flees, but if you are lucky you just might catch them,) and car boot sales, (and no that is not where you buy boots for wearing in the car.) Great!, now I have to explain boot, which is the English for the American trunk.
I have been known to buy old canvasses from car boot sales... or as they were called at the time, paintings!
I have nightmares of my work being seen in years from now only to be destroyed because there is something better quality underneath my crappy paintings Oh dear God, how I wish that last part weren't true. Seriously though, Canvass + frame + glass for 25p, (that is around a quarter and a dime American,) not really something to pass up on.

I love language. I am fascinated with the development of slang within the variation of the "English Language." Thanks for some education.
Personally I hope someone has the good taste after I am gone to paint over my canvasses. They are not part of the legacy I want to leave behind.
