Description Rosaline "Rose" Katherina Xenati (image centre), at the time serving under Inquisitor [REDACTED], was originally promoted to Interrogator status by Inquisitor Lady Ramona DeGascoigne during Operation Cornerstone in 019.M42 as a matter of operational necessity. As events had illustrated the presence of moles and traitors within the Lord Inquisitor's own operation, the Inquisition cell codenamed "Diablo Intercept" was seconded both in order to provide a clean slate, as well as due to their prior association with a key individual in the Tilkisian Civil War. However, as no member of the team possessed the requisite operational clearance, this necessitated the promotion of an existing team member, and DeGascoigne deemed Rose the most suitable candidate - a strong will, a keen mind, and enough guts to have kept her alive through Inquisition service.

While Rose performed admirably during Operation Cornerstone, completing the key objectives despite several complications, the promotion proved a complicated matter in the Carthaxian Conclave. At the time, Rose had only five years of Inquisition experience, making her only a borderline candidate to be sufficiently experienced to fulfil the role, despite her relatively solid prior service record. However, even an Inquisitor cannot challenge a ruling made by an Inquisitor Lord lightly. A more tactful solution was needed.

Rose's pre-Inquisition service was under Adeptus Administratum, as part of the Divisio Historicus on Ismene, but she had much less direct experience with the many other components of the Adeptus Terra. As such, she would be put into an intensive program in which she was expected to train with and operate alongside the other Imperial organisations an Interrogator would be expected to operate alongside. If she passed, then she would become a stronger and more capable candidate. And, only should she fail would it become necessary to challenge the Inquisitor Lord's decision.

Rose is here seen on Ilithyia during the military phases of the process, patrolling with troopers from the Tryphosan 923nd, 3rd company, 2nd platoon, 2nd squad. There were some "difficulties" with the military rules and regulation, but she proved largely capable in the role, her Inquisition service having already put her in combat on dozens of previous occasions.
