Description Here is Rogue based off of the costume design that all the promotional material showed her in. The first one less so, and the only thing different between the middle and last are the color of her pants and gloves.

I agree, I believe the Rogue sub plot might be put onto the Extended Cut that is supposedly getting released in 2015. I sure hope it does because I was so excited to see more of her, and I also digged her costume!

I yeah, I was gonna mention that but I forgot. It's going to be on the extended cut I think.

Me too! Apparently she acted it really well too. And apart from Jubilee (don't judge ), she's my favourite X-Girl.

Nothing wrong with liking Jubilee! Jubilee was supposed to be in Days of Future Past as well, which I really would have loved to see her. I don't really know why they didn't like the sub plot for Rogue to much, I thought it would have worked wonderfully. Maybe that's just because the future parts of the film were my favorite so anything in the future I would have liked haha.

Oh what, I wish she was in it! I wuv Jubilee.

Meh, they thought the plot would have dragged. Still I liked the 70s scenes, I want a shirt with those big collars now!

TBH I'd say Days of Future Past is my favourite X-Men film and The Wolverine is probably the best X film in general, although I'd probably rate them evenly come to think of it.

I still favor X2 a lot, and First Class was really good. As was The Wolverine. I would say the Days of Future Past is really close to the top for me, but the non action and less X-Men feel of the past sequences brought it down for me.

Valeyard-Parallax In reply to Ragnbogenn [2014-08-11 22:06:05 +0000 UTC]

Well I loved the story in DOFP plus the action when we got it was good. The 70s scenes were cool, I want one of those big collared shirts from the 70s!

TBH I don't get why X2 gets so much love, it's good and probably the best of the original trilogy but it's not as good as the latest few films IMO. First Class was good though, not that much action but loved the story.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Ragnbogenn In reply to Valeyard-Parallax [2014-08-12 15:41:04 +0000 UTC]

I just think X2 was the best, because it told a good story. X1 was never really a favorite of mine, Last Stand was good, but they went in a direction that I didn't believe was needed and the story should have not focused so much on what it did. Origins is good, but for the same reasons as The Last Stand it fell short. The Wolverine was an amazing movie, but it didn't really have much of an X-Men feel, but it was still good non the less. First Class was just as good, and was a nice touch to the X-Men films. Days of Future Past helped bring them all together, and tried to explain what a mess the films timeline had become, although certain things should have been explained that weren't.

Regardless they are all pretty great films, and I am excited to see where they go next!

I really liked ASM2, although I feel like they didn't need to push all those villains into one film, they didn't do them justice.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Valeyard-Parallax In reply to Ragnbogenn [2014-08-13 23:18:02 +0000 UTC]

ASM2 was too much about Gwen and Peter and Electro was lame. Why didn't they just go for a full out green goblin film like everyone wanted? I'd have at least of used Rhino as main villain instead of Electro, the five seconds of Rhino were awesome while Electro was utter crap.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Ragnbogenn In reply to Valeyard-Parallax [2014-08-13 23:20:51 +0000 UTC]

I didn't mind Electro, the trailers made him look much cooler tho. I didn't really want it to be all about the Green Goblin, but they pushed his transformation to fast and the battle he had with Peter just seemed almost forced and it was so quick and pointless. I didn't mind it being about Gwen and Peter because I love Gwen. I would have disliked Rhino as the main villain if they used the design they went with, it looks terrible to be honest.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Valeyard-Parallax In reply to Ragnbogenn [2014-08-14 11:41:22 +0000 UTC]

Electro was a basic spider-man villain that was easily killed off. They should have dimmed his powers, even in the comics he wasn't that powerful. In fact they should have based the character on the comics more, Spider-Man is riddled with tragic villains. Doc Ock, Sandman, Lizard to a degree, Harry Osborn at the end and they even made Eddie Brock a little bit tragic too. So Electro would have been the perfect opportunity to go for a villain who wasn't tragic, then they made him tragic.

Green Goblin was pretty much the only outstanding thing in the entire film, I felt they did to Green Goblin what they did to the Joker with Heath Ledger. So I'd have followed that pattern and used him as the main villain in the second film.

Gwen was lovely but I don't want an entire film about her and Peter. This is a Spider-Man film, not Peter and Gwen the movie. There wasn't enough Spider-Man fighting bad guys in this movie.

And I loved the Rhino design, it was the logical step to go. He'd have been fun while Electro was dull and uninspired.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Ragnbogenn In reply to Valeyard-Parallax [2014-08-14 17:29:46 +0000 UTC]

See I liked what they did with Electro, the design was fantastic. I think he should have been a bit more powerful because in the end he was finished off to easily.Β

Rhino's design for me I thought was awful, and I didn't like it one bit. I'd rather have them make Green Goblin the main villain. The only thing that kind of gets me though is that all these villains seem to make the switch from good to bad to easily, and then all of the sudden Peter is their number one target.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Valeyard-Parallax In reply to Ragnbogenn [2014-08-14 19:05:22 +0000 UTC]

If he was more powerful he would have been able to kill everyone easily, in fact I thought it was stupid that Electro was defeated as anyone in real life would have electrocuted Spider-Man then killed everybody, yet someone with that much power was killed so easily, plus his fixation with Spider-Man was utterly random, random how he'd turn against him so easily. They should have had him at the same power level as in the comics, maybe a tad more powerful and had him as a crook with no connection with Peter or Spider-Man at all. The design was fine though.

Rhino was awesome. He looks like he'd be able to finish Spider-Man easily and would be a real threat to him. And I love there's no personal connection between him and Spidey or Peter.

I just hope the third movie is good, and that they don't cram it full of villains this time. And I am really hoping for the introduction of Black Cat.

Valeyard-Parallax In reply to Ragnbogenn [2014-08-14 22:44:26 +0000 UTC]

I think it'll be better if nothing else, but the third film will have the Sinister Six in so that'll be crammed full of villains, and Black Cat probably won't appear as they hinted on who will be in the six and Black Cat wasn't hinted.

Ragnbogenn In reply to Valeyard-Parallax [2014-08-15 15:45:26 +0000 UTC]

Well I thought a Sinister Six movie was happening? I don't think they need all the Sinister Six to appear in their own movie and then a Spider Man movie, but if it does happen I hope they do it right.Β

And I just want her to appear on her own, not part of the Six or anything.

Valeyard-Parallax In reply to Ragnbogenn [2014-08-15 15:46:46 +0000 UTC]

Well ASM2 was building up for the Sinister 6, unless of course that was building up for the Sinister 6 film but TBH I can't see that working as a solo film let alone without being in Spider-Man first.

Ragnbogenn In reply to Valeyard-Parallax [2014-08-15 16:13:39 +0000 UTC]

Yup both a Sinister Six film, and a Venom film had been confirmed awhile ago. Here's a quote from wikipedia.

  • In December 2013, Sony announced two spinoffs of theΒ Amazing Spider-ManΒ series, which include the Sinister Six and Venom, with Drew Goddard attached to write and direct the Sinister Six. The film is said to be a redemption story for the characters and it may not feature the original lineup of the team.Β It is scheduled for release in November 2016.Β The Sinister Six from the credits is led to believe the Sinister Six will be Doctor Octopus from his tentacles, Vulture from his wings, Green Goblin from his glider, Rhino from his horn, a shield or outfit displayed as a cat believed to be Kraven the Hunter, and an eyeball led to speculation, mostly guessed as Chameleon's mask, or one of the eyes off of Mysterio's suit. Other speculations include the Shocker and Black Cat.

Same here. I've read today that they've moved ASM3 from 2016 to 2018 and are doing Sinister Six in 2016 instead, but there's strong rumours that the S6 will be the villains for ASM3 too and Spider-man might be appearing in the Sinister Six film. My theory is that their solo film will deal with their founding and such then ASM3 will deal with them taking their plans into action.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Ragnbogenn In reply to Valeyard-Parallax [2014-08-15 22:18:09 +0000 UTC]

Yeah that could be. I just hope the Sinister Six movie is good, and not just the creation. I'm not exactly sure what they are going to do if they don't have a good guy to fight.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Valeyard-Parallax In reply to Ragnbogenn [2014-08-15 22:31:44 +0000 UTC]

Me too. I think Spider-Man will feature in the Sinister Six. For a start Rhino is in the Sinister Six and ASM2 was left on a cliffhanger with him fighting Spidey do we know he'll be in it. My theory is that single members throughout the film might try and attack Spider-Man and such but the film will centre on the Sinister Six making plans and so on. to be honest I think a solo Sinister Six film is a stupid idea, they better have a good idea of where to go with it and don't fuck up as I can't survive another bad Spidey film. I'm fully supporting the Venom film though.

I loved ASM2, but am sad that Gwen is dead. I'm almost hoping they recast Mary Jane because I'm not a big fan of the actress they chose to play her, but she got cut which I wasn't very upset about.

Hopefully Sinister Six can be made into a good film, and I am excited for Venom, but both films could easily suck.

I'm also pretty positive they recently announced a film starring a female character in the Amazing Spider-Man universe is going to be made, some have tossed up Spider-Woman and Black Cat. Either way they better not screw it up with whoever they choose.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Valeyard-Parallax In reply to Ragnbogenn [2014-08-16 18:44:47 +0000 UTC]

I like that Gwen is dead and even more so that Green Goblin killed her as it emulates "The Night Gwen Stacey Died" but I think they should have done her being thrown off a bridge like in the comics, it would have been so dramatic while her movie death was lacklustre. In fact, they should have based most of the film on The Night Gwen Stacey Died. This is a rare occasion where I'd stay stick to the comicbooks more. But how Green Goblin looked and acted was awesome. Oh yeah I hope they recast MJ, that casting was awful. They need to cast someone more stunning than Emma Stone. Emma looked quite a bit like Gwen from the comics, they need to do MJ in the same way.

I hope they make Venom a more adult film, possibly R-Rated (or 15-18 in my country, I'm from the UK). I want to see a rise of adult superhero films. Daredevil, Punisher, Blade, Deadpool, Venom, bring it all on!

Maybe it could be Spider-Girl. BTW I think Marvel Studios might own Spider-Woman as she isn't really connected to Spider-Man that much but is with the Avengers. Meh I think she might be in a similar situation to Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch. To be honest I want a Spider-Man 2099 film, maybe then that'll prompt DC to fonally do a Batman Beyond film!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Ragnbogenn In reply to Valeyard-Parallax [2014-08-16 21:14:16 +0000 UTC]

I'm sad she died, but it was expected. I liked her death, although I feel like the whole time she was falling everyone knew it was gonna happen. They could have just done a quick scene where she gets thrown off a bridge and Peter grabs her with his web while trying to hold off the Green Goblin and nobody is even thinking about anything bad happening to her, then next thing you know he pulls her up and finds out her neck is snapped.

Green Goblin looked alright, but it wasn't a favorite design. And I agree Venom needs to be more adult, and portrayed well.

I would love a Spider-Woman movie but I agree she may be owned by Marvel in this sense. Spider-Girl would be alright, but she is to similar to Peter.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Valeyard-Parallax In reply to Ragnbogenn [2014-08-16 22:04:35 +0000 UTC]

I think personally they should they should have just done it like in the comics. But yeah, a quick unexpected scene would have been cool.

Meh, can you think of a better design?

Possibly. But I don't think it's viable right now as no one's sure whether Marvel or Sony have the rights to her. To be honest I can't really think of anyone else other than Spider-Girl who could star in a female spidey film. I couldn't really imagine a Black Cat film as a lot of people would think she's a rip off of Catwoman and she's not particularly interesting.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Ragnbogenn In reply to Valeyard-Parallax [2014-08-16 22:48:26 +0000 UTC]

I find her interesting, she is one of my favorite Spider Universe characters. I think she would be better then Spider-Girl who would just be a Peter clone.

And Black Cat's "cat burglar" "tight black suit" design and actions were actually original to Black Cat, Catwoman was nothing like she is now when Black Cat was introduced, so in fact Catwoman would be the rip off, although most fans probably wouldn't realize that.

A Spider-Woman movie to me would be the most interesting if done right, as long as they keep her the way she is in the comics and not just make her like Spider-Girl.

And personally I liked the design of the Green Goblin in the original Spider-Man movie.

Valeyard-Parallax In reply to Ragnbogenn [2014-08-16 22:51:44 +0000 UTC]

I didn't know that about Black Cat. I need to Wikipedia her.

They'd probably mix up the characters a bit and take the best of both. I'm not against it TBH.

I too like the original design although by todays standards it's not quit as good but I think it still works. But I think the new design is awesome. When I first saw it I didn't like it much but when I saw it in action I fell in love with it.

Agreed. And I definitely don't want another reboot. If Sony fails to deliver with these next few Spider-Man films, then I hope the rights revert to Marvel. While I have enjoyed the ASM films and the X-Men Films I have always been curious to see what Marvel would do with them, and it would be nice to see a movie universe where everything existed together like the comics.

Indeed. I don't want Fox to stop making X-Men as I really like Fox's style, more so than Marvel I dare say. X-Men, Daredevil, just a couple of my favourites!

But I think if Sony keep fucking up Spider-Man then I'd be more than happy to see Marvel get him, they could even use him in the Avengers, have cross overs with Daredevil and end the jokes that the Avengers don't want him.
