Description 2023 was the last year, the class 1700 was in service for the NS. Reason enough for me, to get into the area around Bad Bentheim and also deeper in the Netherlands, to take some photos of this iconic locomotive. It was a well recognized locomotive, but the downfall of locomotive hauled trains in the Netherlands, especially the NS, hit also on the 1700. Let's hope, that all locomotives find a new home and have a long ongoing life
