I thought I'd have to be more specific on my search but NOPE first try and I got this. Really great tutorial and the end effect far beats the tube feature. Really like it and best of all it was based on PSP9 which is the same program I use. Thanks for this big time

So I'm at the 3rd step where you're drawing diagonal lines. I've got the dark ones but how do you make the light lines at the bottom? Since we're only using one color this isn't making sense.

I haven't really looked at any tutorial before... I've actually never taken any digital art class before either. I started out with logo, moved on to basic and messed around with photoshop in graphic arts over a dozen years ago... since I've loved to play around on my own. I tell you though... you have a very concise tutorial here. I wouldn't have noticed it if it weren't favorited so much today but I'm happy to see you're helping people out. I never look at tutorials either... started up with PSP6 and all I ever did was playing with the tools and functions... never got any help, so I think my abilities might be a little primitive...

I guess many would say I'm amateur that way, but I'd say it makes it all the more worth every minute of it. While some "professionalism" in art is interesting, I'd say I enjoy creative attempt much more then popular aesthetics. I'd also say it looks like you might have both here. Good stuff
