I'm so incredibly happy about this piece I can hardly contain myself. It's not the most work I've ever put into a pic, but I'm positive it's the best work I've put into one. I must confess though, the background is a single brush I found while playing around with Krita's set. I immediately thought "Hey this kinda looks like leaves!", started doing random strokes and bam! A very simple but nice-looking background.

This comes after a bit of a rough patch where I was unable to draw anything. I'd start up Krita and try to do something specific, but it would always turn out shitty, I'd get discouraged and just rage quit. Then a couple days ago, I decided to drop all my ideas and just do something - anything - and let it flow. This was the result. I may be making this bigger than it ought to be, but to me it's encouraging to see that, even if I'm still a long ways off from being the artist I want to be, I can still make nice things when I put work into them. Practice is in order.

UPDATE1: Tagged for Mature because I received correspondence suggesting I should. Not gonna take any chances.
