Dear god, I think I went a little overboard.

So, I didn’t know what I wanted to draw today. A part of me really wanted to draw Shantae. A smaller part of me wanted to draw a little scene based off the “Run Run Rottytops” segment of Pirate’s Curse, but I know I’m not that good yet. Other things up for consideration were Final Fantasy, and to a lesser extent a “Run Run Rottytops” featuring Miraculous Ladybug characters.
Still, I had to draw something, so I found an image on Google and went with it. Getting this out of the way now, the base image can be found on shantae.net; if you’re the artist and you happen to come across this, please get in touch with me so I can credit you properly.

This wasn’t going to be this detailed. I was fully planning on this being a typical posture sketch like I’d been doing before. Then I get to the body, and, by complete accident I manage to draw a passable hand.
Two hours later, I’m sitting at the computer adding *way* more detail than I’d expected. Shading, lighting, a *chest*, all that stuff, and all the while I’m thinking to myself, “Dear Celestia, what have I gotten myself into?”
But it’s done, and as I look at it now, I don’t regret it. This one was a lot of fun.
