Because has sucked me into her stories like some sort of magic, all consuming dark hole of word spells. And this is from one of my favorite stories. Again, I have a really loose representation of how the actual story went, because my mind won't allow me a single linear thought. Ughgh, I'm not making sense.Anyways, I liked this story a lot, so I drew what my brain sort of mashed together from it. I'm going to tape the two sides of this picture together, so it's an everlasting circle of um. I don't know. Implied gay and sadistic man choking. Whatever.
I think my favorite part about this picture is Jimmy's butterscotch plaid shirt.

I'm really glad you like it; haha, I was a little worried about what the general reaction would be in regard to Edgar and Jimmy, because seriously, it's become my thing of late and I think a lot of people who watch me are shippers of Edgar and Johnny. I'm glad I'm not being ostracized and pelted with mangos.

Yeah, I really REALLY like Nny/Edgar, but I still like Jimmy/Edgar for the sake of nostalgia from that RP way long ago. It's just a very interesting pair. So even if it is borderlining on blasphemy in my world, I STILL LOVE THIS. THAT'S HOW GOOD YOU ARE.

Oh man. I really like what you did with this. Jimmy's posture and smug expression, Edgar's relaxed shoulders, the dramatic watercolor background, and the black and white contrasts...it's so amazing.

this is so amazing. Seriously. The visual irony completetly knocks me over, I mean, the split background do a fantatic job of putting sort of a metaphysical wall between them, but I'm so very impressed with the way you contrasted the IDEAS. Man. I love the circle idea.
I think it's how comfortable they look in the middle and how charged the side halves look.

Thank you-- it took forever. I'm glad Jimmy's face ended up working out, because I actually messed up his face REAL BAD when I was painting it. Real bad. I was giving him freckles, and it ended up just making him tanner. I tried to give him a few pimples, and he ended up looking like he had some sort of horrible disease. Ugh. He was supposed to be way lighter than Edgar, but they're pretty much the same. Anger.

haha. He does look creepy, that's true. But I thought you did it all on purpose because he's always been a creepy teenager and in this story he's SUPER CREEPY AND MEGA DANGEROUS even more than usual. So, you know. Rapist face with bonus acne totally fits.
As for the skin tone, pfft, I've had that problem before. Sometimes Jimmy just wants to be Hispanic too. But you know...

No-- he is supposed to be creepy, so I'm glad that was conveyed. -laugh- It's his colouring that's off. He was supposed to be paler, which was my biggest issue, because he and Edgar look like they have the same skin tone, BUT THEY DON'T. I liked the idea that you made Edgar Hispanic, which makes sense because his last name IS Vargas. Edgar is actually a hellofalot darker in this picture than I've ever coloured him before, but you can't notice because of the lack on contrast between he and Jimmy's skin. That's where I messed up, because I like his creepy face. -laugh-

Okay, so I was looking at it again and I just have to point out one more cool thing before this conversation ends.
White!Edgar's face. It is so Unnf. And with the hand he has outstretched, it's amazing. It's so ... "in my dreams you kiss me back", if that quote means anything to you.

Okay. I figured it out, because I'm in the middle of re-reading Sick right now. I feel like such a tool right now, not remembering that, because I feel like that's one of my other favorite quotes of all time.
I think it's sort of amusing, because I drew this maybe a day after I actually read the story, so the only parts that really stuck out in my mind were Jimmy's emotions and the fact that they were on a bench (I remembered more, but those were the two things that really stuck out in my mind). After re-reading Sick, I realized how much of it actually latched onto my brain and sort of made itself known; like, my consciousness had some fuzzy, vague idea about what the picture was going to be, but my subconscious latched on to a bunch of details I didn't even know it held onto and translated it into picture, like Edgar's "I still love you" sort of arm thing, or the fact that Jimmy mentions having a gun in Edgar's mouth, something I didn't realize until now.
God, that was long. Okay. Back to reading and doodling my life away.
