The night is a funny thing. Not really funny 'haha' (despite the higher risk of turning hysterical past eleven), just... strange. Different to the day, in so many ways. On some nights, you may lie awake in bed and think about the big questions. You know... 'Who am I? Why am I here? Did I leave the telly on standby?' That sort of thing. But tonight is not one of those nights.

On some nights, I myself will be sitting in front of my laptop at around two in the morning, exchanging messages over MSN with a friend in Germany, who must be as insane as I am to be up at this hour. I'll also usually talk to people from Canada and the US who, upon my gleeful announcement of "It's 2AM!", will tell me to "GO TO BED." Tonight is most certainly one of those nights.

Tonight is one of those nights when, at around midnight, I'll suddenly be struck by a figurative bolt of inspiration, and continue through until about 1:30 drawing... Artists, for the most part, seem to be best inspired to create at night. I am an artist; this is why I am up at 1:30AM, switching between sketching in paint tool SAI and debating with Julius over whether he's a strawberry or a brussels sprout (I still believe it to be the former).

Only the motivation to draw and the conversations that link me to the rest of the world are keeping me awake; to be honest, it's something that I like, being able to talk to people I would never have met in real life... I know that I'm probably a little bit crazy to be up in the small hours of the morning. Heck, I'm most likely insane for being up so late, but that's just part of what makes me me... On some nights, me go bed now thank you.
