Background: Having grown up in a reasonably well-off family, Beryl was often subjected to being an assumed spoilt brat in her younger years, so didn't have too many friends to show for it. She is German/English bilingual and is half English, half German, having moved back and forth between two countries over the years - Beryl was born in Germany and lived there with both parents for ten years before they separated and she moved to England with her mother. Her father visited a few years later and gifted her with a small black kitten, which she called Chloe. Her current home outside of the academy is with her mother. Beryl's powers didn't appear suddenly - rather, they grew over time, and she didn't really notice them appearing, just that they were there at some point. She still has some trouble nurturing these powers due to a lack of eden.

Appearance: Beryl is reasonably tall - not so much that she looks lanky or fragilely thin, though she does have fairly lithe arms. She generally lacks muscles, despite running around a lot of the time (due to being late to various occasions), and can barely pick up a pile of books without help; she also has a lot of trouble keeping her balance and is falling over every other trip down the stairs. I'll admit that while not outstanding in terms of female assets, she isn't lacking either, and Beryl is perfectly happy with the way her figure looks. She used to tie her hair in a high ponytail at the back for practical purposes, but now favours a more laid-back, low-slung side ponytail. She has poor vision and therefore wears contacts. Beryl's style of dress has changed a lot in recent months, and she now prefers a more fashionable (but still functional) approach to clothing.

Personality: With a level-headed personality and a steady hand which rivals that of a forensic scientist, Beryl's polite mannerisms and generally quiet nature contrast noticeably with her tendency towards plethoric, conspicuous accidents. However, while she is a good thinker and strategist who doesn't like to let emotions drag her down, she can become overly-anxious about upsetting or hurting others. She would only ever consider hurting someone or something if it would prevent further pain and suffering. Beryl is a studious person who enjoys reading in the peaceful seclusion of the library, though she is quite happy to socialise with different people and make new friends. The only times you're likely to see her get seriously angry or let loose her powers is when those close to her are in danger, but Beryl can become frustrated when thrown out of routine or unable to work in peace. She'd probably be late to her own funeral.

So it's 4AM and I've been working on this for the past three hours. I'm exhausted but so glad to have this finished. This is the original sketch. She doesn't wear glasses any more, since they're fiddly and ugly when lined, so they just happen to be there in the sketch. Just so you know, her boots are gold (the same as her hem of her top) with green laces and black soles - though I'm giving everyone the freedom to mix these 3 colours up a bit~ But anyway. I've decided to try re-enrolling into AoH for the third semester, since there's been a massive improvement in my art over the past year and I don't want to waste the effort I put in. I honestly feel so proud of myself for coming this far. Wish me luck.
