The gentle hum of twenty fans in the next room over.The click of doors opening, the squeals as they swing.
The clack and - occasionally - the slam as they shut.
The tak tak tak tak of high heels on laminated flooring.
The clock that hangs on a wall quietly ticking to itself.
The kakawing of a crow just outside the window.
The whir and faint clickety-clack of a train passing by.
The frequent sniffing brought on by bouts of hay fever.
The small burst of feminine laughter from two floors below.
The nonchalant tune being whistled echoing throughout the corridor.
The sound of footsteps again, heavier, and boisterous quibbling.
The furniture being carelessly rearranged somewhere far off.
The silence that isn't really there.
The noises only heard when you listen.

Man, I love when it's like this. All too many times I've been somewhere where I strained, and couldn't even hear these. I hate the silence; it cares me.
This is my favourite piece so far~

I always need to have background noise; the boiler running, my laptop fan whirring, my mum snoring, the TV garbling away. Silence is unnatural and scary; even in a forest in the middle of the night, there are the sounds of trees swaying in the wind and nocturnal creatures going about their business.
I think quiet sunny days are the best things, but only when there are sounds of life around, not too near by to be annoying but not too far away for it to feel lonely. And thank you, I'm glad you like it :'>

After and during a couple of my exams this past year, the room was deathly quiet. It scared the shit out of me.
Sunny days are beautiful~ I tend to stay inside though. I burn easily, and I have mild seasonal allergies. >__> ((I realize I sound like a super geek))

I once burned so badly that I had to go to the hospital to get it treated. In May. After 4pm.
But yeah, I'm under doctor's orders to never take my shirt off outside. >___>;;

I'm lucky to have never gotten sunburn on my arms, but when I do get sunburn I peel like a snaaaaake 9__6;;
