I still can't get over the fact that Fluttershy and Discord are pen pals! These two...these two are SO cute *-* So I just had to draw them 
Here is what the letter says, if you care:
Dear Discord,
Today I've started to overcome stage fright! Yay! But, like I've told my friends, baby steps. I had to fill in for a ponytone that lost his voice, and use poison joke to make my voice deeper so I could sing his part! I had to do his part backstage while he moved his lips on stage, because I was afraid to sing in front of everypony. It was really funny though! We call the deeper voice "Flutterguy!" Haha, I think you'd get a kick out of it! I wish you saw the ponytones perform, they are wonderful! Maybe I'll sing for you some time, I'm not afraid to sing in front of my friends anymore! Anyway, you won't believe what I did on my last performance. I accidently knocked over the curtain and everypony saw me singing! I was terrified, and ran away crying, but my friends convinced me it wasn't as bad as I thought it was. Everypony WAS cheering and applauding for me!
But enough about me! What about you, Discord? Is everything going good? You should come visit me soon, I'd be happy to see you!

Not sure why you would think people wouldn't care about what the letter says. Before I scrolled down (You know, like I should've a little in the first place >.>), I was trying to read it behind them, lol. This picture is SO friggin' cute, and I'm also of the opinion that them being pen pals is just as much so, if not more.
Thanks for this, I needed that extra jolt ofΒ "D'awwww!" before my monotonous day began.

You know, I think Discord might have a better understandment of Fluttershy as friends than the other main ponies. I'm really, really shy in real life, but I can be more of myself a bit better when I'm writing what I want to say. Thus, I kinda feel the connection these two are having with the exchange of letters. n_nΒ
So Discord might know more about Fluttershy than all her friends ever did!(not counting that he's an omnipotent being of course) Β

There's also the animals she cares for - she has shown that she can handle chaos, clutter and multiple crises at once. She's not fazed by discord or Discord, because she knows the difference when a problem really important or just a nuisance. And she understands that discord can indicate where a problem lies, so you can fix the problem.
