Description Have you ever had happiness overflow out of you?
Like an exquisitely wrought Italian fountain,
Water, honey, and other tasteful things erupting in a crescendo out of your soul.

Like rough salmon silk and icy burgundy velvet,
Like warm satin and tumbled quilts,
Like form-fitting lace and shiny leather.

Have you ever basked in the sun?
The sunbeams glistening over you in heart-warming embraces,
Your entire body lifts up into the clouds,
The Chinese blue sky drifts by lazily,
And your hand reaches out to touch the latest impressionists.
The feel of solid ground anchoring you to the earth,
Any gloom and grim exaggerated predictions evaporate into the clear horizon,
And all you can do is sigh and laugh,
Your skin tingling in a mixture of relief and heavenly bliss.

Like melted chocolate dripping onto your tongue,
Like an extended, relaxing day in a sleepy bed,
Like the feeling of a good book ripped out of the cover and pulled into your mind for savoring.

Have you ever danced in the rain?
The faint gleam of oblivious neighbors’ porch lights barely noticeable to you,
The world revolves you for a briefest of seconds,
And the father of time jerks the wheel to a stop,
And all you see is the few inches in front of your face,
The emeralds of plants and grass shimmering in the dim street lights,
An empty road no longer a metaphor of loneliness,
As the rain thunders down, thunders down in gallon-sized buckets,
Causing cold splashes to glint off your face and onto the pavement,
Your hands spray out, and you try to catch every droplet heading your way,
And you’re soaked to the bone, and you’re not sure if there’s another clean set waiting,
But you couldn’t care less.

Like a rich, perfectly proportioned meal,
Like sugar and spice mingled together in that one moment,
Where all you know is the delectable taste in your mouth,
And the overwhelming moment of clarity when you know, simply know, that chefs are gods.

Have you ever gazed up into the moon and the stars?
The thousand and one lights wink down at you,
A predestined history hidden in their own egg-shaped galaxies,
A million and one stories engrossed into their pointed arches,
A trillion and one years to go.
The moon smiles down at you,
The cold surface once harbored princesses, immortals, rabbits, and a man in a top hat.
Now science dubs them gone, that much you know for sure, for certainty.
But then your eyes catch a moment, a shadow simply fell over it,
But you saw the crowd.
They’re all waving at you.
And you return the gesture.

Have you ever had happiness overflow out of you?
Like an exquisitely wrought Italian fountain,
Water, honey, and other tasteful things erupting in a crescendo out of your soul.
