I'm pretty sure I might get.... yelled at for this but I want to say up front that <3 America and everything that it stands for. Now that it's out of the way....I watched the History Channel's holiday show of the 4th of July. I really love those shows but this one had my heart hurting a bit. I feel like the values and the ideals of what America should mean, are lost in time and translation. And all these people are talking about how patriotic they are and how great America is and all I could think was, "Some people are not so lucky and don't feel equal." There are many that feel like this for a verity of reasons.
I chose the one that was closest to my heart. I feel like even though a am an American, because I am a lesbian, I'm considered less. I didn't give it up or want it to go, it just feels like it was ripped from me.
So happy 4th everyone. On this day of freedom, please remember that not everyone is free yet.

This is amazing, and when put in this context those words can mean exactly what they were meant to: All men are created equal.
But of course they never realized how idiotic the American population could become .-.
I truly believe these words, with all of my heart, and even in front of God. I don't think he cares if you love a woman, man, or animal.

This is a beautiful piece of artwork. Just, so awesome. I want to get that out first. But, i want to know, is it constitutional if you actually do this to a flag? I mean, you can burn the flag, but can you physically alter one just like this? That would be awesome, and a cool idea too do, if i could. I also think it should be covered under the 1st amendment rights of speech. But, they might say that by altering the flag in this way, is like making a new flag in the first place. uhg, government.

Ah yes Government. You can't technically alter or deface a flag but you can burn one....for reasons that have escaped me. 0_o

In a way I have no say on this because Iām not an American ,myself ; but America is not the only county with a long way to go, England has to. Maybe this two counties could learn from each other. And America is no the only place where you can be considered less because your lesbian. But from the little I know about the 4th I think that is more of a day to be proud of how far America had come rather then seeing how far its still got to go.
But anyway I did say I love it didn't I?
