My bf and I headcannon that each chaos emerald is linked with one character. These links help lessen said character’s abilities and not overwhelm their hosts to the point where they can be deadly. One character with a link will be revealed every day until all seven are revealed.
Day 3: The red emerald is linked with Knuckles and his strength.
