Description Did I catch the HTF style?

Perhaps I have, and for the first time in a long time, all my important characters are immortalized in the HTF style. From the stubby limbs to the huge heads and big mouths, I made sure I stuck as closely to the style as humanly possible. And when that failed, I stuck as closely as inhumanly possible! I played around with some colours and looks of the characters, things that should make them easier to draw, or at the very least picture in a HTF environment.

To those of you who thought I could never contribute true HTF art to the HTF fandom, consider this my middle finger.

I honestly think your HTF characters simply look too crazy for HTF. Try simplifying your OCs a bit!

Hee hee, it's been awhile since I've seen this series. How long has it been, like 3-4 years? In any case, ahh memories of my old account! Maybe on of these days, if you don't mind, I make take a shot at drawing GEO and Annalise (the old, red headed version)

I was never able to do true HTF style, but then again I never really wanted to @_@ I think you got it down though.

Well you're more then welcome to have a stab at them.

And yes, I too keep a bundle of memories, back when such things were more respectable and enjoyable.

I like your HTF Style. BTW, my HTF style is similar to yours, but in a more traditional way and chased authenticity much faster. My old style was similar to yours a few months ago. Your old style lasted 4 years and my old style only lasted 4 months, so I loved your style, you did a nice job on it.

In comparasion, I say it's quite an improvment. Much more can be said about the inividual poses, but I'm not going that far right now. I can say this though, Anna stands out in my eyes from the rests, so you obviusly made a good job on her. The rest looks good too.

Once again, it's an improvemnt. Keep it up

I need to draw Anna more though, being so different. I need to see how far I can push the boundaries with her, and see if she fits in the true nature of HTF artistry.

This is just MY opinion but, your characters look better in this style than the do in your original one, no offense. Plus, as previously commented, more poses and objects makes a definite step ahead.

Something about your original style seems to be...lacking when drawing HTF. Not just because it was different from the official HTF style... I can't put my finger on what it is exactly. Sorry, I hate to bash years of your work but this confuses me a bit as you were able to draw pokemon expertly well (and heartless/nobodies too I noticed after taking a quick peek at your gallery). Again, this is all just MY opinion and I'm just some random fool.

Though I'd be very interested in seeing something from you completely out of these fandoms.

Rainbroach In reply to DeftFunk [2009-09-02 07:55:33 +0000 UTC]

Perhaps my old style was too fixed and lacked real diversity, all shapes and limbs seemed too similar and had no real definition. In the actual style that has multiple variations and plenty of loose limbs etc, it's much easier to use and bend to the artist's will.

Well... I've looked though your entire gallery (Lol, stalker ), and yes, you have evolved in the past 5 years. Really I noticed that your fame didn't come until the past 2 1/2 years, during CC. But still, when I first entered the HTF fandom, you were one of the first people I heard about, you are one of the reasons I pursued going back to artwork, and YOU are one of the reasons I'm who I am today.

Maybe I went overboard... But it had to be said.

Rainbroach In reply to Guitar1987 [2009-09-01 14:12:11 +0000 UTC]

I've heard lately that a lot of young and aspiring artists have me to thank for entering such a fandom in the first place, now I truly feel like a piece of HTF's history, its legacy, its structure. If I were to vanish, I do sometimes wonder what would befall the people that looked to me from the start and still do today...but such thoughts should be saved for a day when that choice needs to be made, not now.

Cherry-Chowder [2009-08-29 22:29:31 +0000 UTC]

Actually I think you capture the HTF style like no other person in the fuckin' and lost earth. And I understood what the last paragraph says, and was really rude to say. But nobody can get angry, do not you say so specifically, so... It was as how you never said that or did et. The best thing that impresses me is the quality of the colors, and as you combine shades with the outline, and it seems I'm the only one who noticed that the shades of color in outline, is not the same lighter color on the skin. That is a fact. Well, I really want to say that your drawings inaccuracies me in enviroment your new style HTF.

Well... See ya...

bye...

Man, this looks great Well done!

There may be some misconception about what's good and what's not. Apparently some people have made you think that authenticity means quality, and that it's a step ahead from the usual. I'd say both styles are equally good; style has really never been my objection. It's just that a lot of your HTF fan art looked copied and pasted from earlier pieces (the similarities between poses, body parts et cetera were too obvious, and we both know that recolouring things is easy as pie in a vector application), and with that, it lacked the dynamic touch that can make a good drawing great. Drawing something from scratch, maybe even on paper, really does help regardless of the style of the final product.

What's next is up to you. I'm all in favour of originality and effort, which seems to be much more prominent in this drawing than usual-- as for the style, your call

Rainbroach In reply to BrunoTheFox [2009-08-30 15:07:28 +0000 UTC]

Thank you for those honest words Burre, I prefer to be told what's true as opposed to what sounds good to me. True art and style can have many meanings and views from other people, but what I've found here and heard from others helps me to believe that this right here is a good picture.
