Description Ehehe, I've been taking care of all the art I owe people. XD This one is a prize for of Ashura-ou, the father of the protagonist in CLAMP's RG Veda of the same name. Those of you who are more familiar with Tsubasa, this is the Ashura from the Celes arc. I don't think I realized just how similar father and child looked until I drew and painted this, LOL. If Papa-Ashura wasn't drawn with straight, shoulder-length hair and that interesting boxy shape to the top of his head, it would be even easier to mix the two up than it already is. XD I chose to draw Papa in a more realistic style, so he looks a lot like his kid. Or his kid looks a lot like him. LOL.

This is probably also the first more realistic Ashura-ou fanart I see, among the very few out there (oh Lord, gimme ideas and time to paint 'em ). His hairstyle works better this way, but hey, those were the 80's, right? The solemn expression on his face is unmistakable. Thanks so much for sharing!

Indeed, that is the feeling I got from his side of the story. Thank you!

I loved the side story, though. Ashura is still one of my favorite characters because I can relate to him. I was sort of an "abandoned" child with my father. My mother never tried to kill me but I wasn't really appreciated as a child. I can see my father suffering like Ashura-oh. Hopefully not eaten by an evil overlord who wants to take over the heavens but...
