When I first saw this, I immediately thought 'CURLEY'S WIFE!'. This is exactly how I imagined Curley's Wife (from Steinbecks 'Of Mice And Men' novel) to look!

she's described like a femme fetal who always wears red, has brown hair which is curled in to ringlets and she died in a barn upon the hay because a man called Lennie accidently broke her neck...
Sounds a bit macabre but the Picture does remind me of it
